How did HL2.NET become so huge?

Some reaosn why I think we're so popular is that
a) Valve info thread
and
b) We have have so many active members refreshing will almost always get you a new post...our forums are active 24-7 with unique members. People like that they cna post, get a cup of coffee, goto the bathroom, come back and see that either somone has repsonded to them, or theres soemthing new for them to ocmment on.
Another thing to keep in mind about our popularity is that we've been constantly gaining popularity...even after various issues with the site....including a month long down time.
