How did you discover HL2.net

I didn't even know what the Hell Half - Life was until I googled it and found this site.

Lolvut.

April 2003: "Hey cool, Half-Life 2 has a website now."
May 2003: "I wonder if Valve reserved www.halflife2.net..."

Nick?

YES?

(Sorry, I fell asleep last night >_>
Was that you at my window? I was too far gone to do ANYTHING by the point I thought I heard someone banging on my window).

Hahaha, yeah it was. I knocked a few times, and flicked my lighter to see if it would wake you up, but after a minute I gave up. Wanna hang out tonight instead? (I'm at a LAN center btw :P)

I searched "Hot Sex Now" on Google and this came up....

Does anyone remember craig? He's an old mate of mine from college and university ... though he's been without interweb access for a while now.

Anyways I'm pretty sure it was him that told me about this place.

I didn't discover Halflife2.net, Halflife2.net discovered me. I was minding my own business when this website came out of nowhere begging me to be on it, and I obliged.

Well, we've house trained the site so that these kinds of things won't happen. We didn't want to risk another Darkside.

I don't think the world could handle it.

We'd probably end up arguing with each other and cancel each other out.

Alternatively, we'd agree...then everyone would be ****ed.

Google HL2.
Same.

For some reason the Vortigaunt that attaches the gun to your airboat got me interesting in the story and I wanted somewhere to discus it. My fist thread (I think it was my first post too) was about Vortigaunts :dork:

It was March 2003...

I saw a big picture of a crowbar in Edge magazine. I thought, could this be Half-Life 2? Went to Halflife2.net and saw nothing there... went to my wallet and bought the domain. The rest, is history.

Vort fetish.

I thought you was history too ... when did you come back?

He seems to lurk around and swoop into threads from time to time still.

I always pictured him like the eye of Sauron :D

I'm around... I'm more of a browser then a poster. I like to creep in when you least expect it ;)

I wish munro would post more often. I would like to get some sort of idea of his personality, rather than just a name.

Yes, I'll talk about him like he's not even here D:

Encased in Carbonite. I lurked around here and hlfallout during the lead up to Half-Life 2, when Planet-Halflife was basically one big referral page to these sites because they were the only up to the minute sources. In the end, I registered to yap on about the newly released games. Oh for an innocent time when you could wonder where the Hydra was and not seem a bit of a tard.

I was linked here from the Vivendi Universal HL2 forums.

Anyone remember those?

I remember I was trying to find out if the shadows-through-objects bug had been fixed, so I must have googled it and found a thread on here about it...

I googled Half-Life 2 to look for some forums where I could read peoples opinions (because I like to do that after I beat games for some reason), and I thought that these forums seemed full of cool people, so I joined myself. Ever since, I've really enjoyed my time here :).

Link from hlfallout.

They're not up to date at all, so I went here. (Apparently Episode One hasn't been released yet.)

I saw the crowbar ad, and then months later more images started showing up. Curious, I tried searching many websites to see if I could track down some more information and stumbled onto this website.

Back then, there were only a handful of websites dedicated to Half-Life 2, but I found myself coming back here simply because of how fast new information was being unearthed by the community.

The only reason I joined the forums, instead of simply viewing as a guest, was because a lot of the members were showing new pictures as attachments (remember those things? I haven't seen anyone use them in ages). You couldn't view attachments unless you were a member, so I became one.

I'm pretty sure if that members-only restriction hadn't happened, I never would have joined, integrated into the community and stayed for as long as I have.

He ignores me on the Steam HL2.net chat. Makes me sad.

I was probably here in search of information relating to the (supposed) imminent release of HL2 in September 2003.

I used to listen to HL-Radio every night back in summer of 2003 :O

Ever since I heard HL2 was coming out back in 2003 roughly, I would go here for the latest news updates. This site has been proven to be kick ass in forum quality. Whatever that means... :)

Needed help getting through Water Hazard...

Joined after lurking for a while - started off in HL2 section, havn't really posted much in those few years...

I... don't actually know how I ended up here.
