How did you get your screenname?

A slight tweak of the name Sadako from TimeSplitters 2. I first used the name for this site and it's stuck ever since.

Why didn't he just create you a screen name you wanted? That's what big brothers are for.

Well I didn't know what I wanted, so his giving of the screennames worked out for me.

I swear I've made a thread like this before, and I explained where I got mine, and I just wanted to CP it cuz I'm lazy... but I couldn't find the thread. So, if anyone cares, you'll have to find it yourself.

I took my name... and I left it unchanged.

What-Jamas?

Those of you who've played Golden Sun already know where I got my screenname from. :)

Those of you who haven't, (which you suck btw if you haven't) Saturos is one of the main villians along with his female sidekick, Menardi.
I was surprised too that Saturos wasn't taken and didn't have to register as Saturos784 or something, as it's quite common. This is also the screenname I use in several other forums too.

@ mastag: That screenname always reminded me of a washing machine for some reason. Hi washing machine! :D

My father was "Highlander", He enjoyed the movies a lot. i just adopted it, after he stopped playing online games, which was a good, 6-7 years ago. Been highlander ever since. :)

I love the Simpsons, so this screen name is a slightly obscure reference to it. Cookies to anyone who can guess what I'm talking about without Googling or going to my profile. :D

I was about 11 and walking around costco with my mom when I ran across some generic locally published joke book. Opened the bastard up to a random page that read "how to tell if your lifeguard doesn't know what he's doing", one of the criteria reading "his nickname is 'sinky'".

I, being the immature and shielded youth I was, thought this was absolutely hilarious, so when a friend of mine prodded me to make an aim account, I tried to create an account named "sinky".

Of course that was taken, so I then tried "sinky man", which was also taken, "sinko", also taken, and then "sinkoman"...

Which was also taken. But aim suggested I use "sinkoman3", to which I said "**** that", and proceeded to create an account named "sinkoman III".

But aim seems to be the only place where i've found sinkoman to be already taken, so I just use sinkoman everywhere...

MISTER SPARKLE!

Ace Darkside was my pilot name from Armored Core. Ace came from my name, and I don't remember why I put Darkside. 55 is from my two favorite numbers, 2 and 5, or two 5s.

Great story about my name, I used to play on the tesla battletech machines (giant cockpit arcade machines) and my callsign was always Darkside. After this one match I had, when they were calling out people for the battle report, one of the machine operators looked at me and said, "You look like a Darkside." That always made me feel good.

Mr. Sparkle.

Jondyfun, a bastardisation of my name, Jonathon, that was my nickname in high school. It sounded a bit lame online though, kindof ending up as 'jondy-fun', so I neutered it :)

It's a bastardisation of an old screename I used when I played clan games in Jedi Academy. Good days!

I've got far too many Aliases these days.

This one is from Windwaker ;)

There was an exploit in HL2DM that allowed you to be any model you wanted, but some of these models didn't have death animations, so when they died they crashed the server. Seagulls had death animations, so I played as a seagull. It's still my name today in-game, and it stuck on forums too.

Way back in 2002 while reading through a Calvin and Hobbes book, more specifically the strip you see above, I zeroed in on one of the words from the third panel. Unfortunately, when signing up to the first forum with this new handle something went wrong, and I elected to add the 0 and re-register as Gazork0 (Pronounced Gazork-oh) and it has stuck ever since :)

Incidentally, I've also used the same avatar pretty much since then. I like to keep things simple :p

My original name that I used to use in everything was sup3rsnail.

Got the name from all the way back in elementary school, I think the class reading something about snails and me being an imaginative little kid pictured a snail flying like superman.

Anyways, current name is from Donnie Darko during the credits I saw Lucid Assembly as a song title and I was like, that sounds hot brb using.
But cause I hate using spaces in names, I added x's for coolness.
After the first year I decided to shorten it. :D

Most exciting story ever.

Naurgul was my first D&D character's name. It comes from one of Tolkien's artificial languages, Sindarin. Its components are naur and gϋl. I'd say in English it loosely translates as "Flame Loremaster". There's a reason I chose that but I won't tire you with more details.

My story writing nickname I won't tell a soul.
My old gaming nick was Alpheus Togra after a Dark Reign character.
My current nick is formed from a rather generic nick Kyo with risu thrown in from my brothers nick Rurisu a character from Martian Successor Nadesico.

Tis my nickname in real life. It is a common derivative of my surname around here. Thus Evo :D

I can't remember. I think I just saw the word somewhere, decided it looked cool and would make a good username, and then used it. I actually didn't read the definition until after, but it works :D

I've been using the name Ennui for far longer than anything else, I had a string of maybe 20-30 names in the years before I switched to this one (which was three years ago or so). The only one any of you should remember is Audiophile, which was the original name of this account, and given how few people there are left from back then I imagine it's not very many of you =P plus I didn't start posting hyperregularly until after the name change.

Oh, that was you? Cool!

Sparta was the name of a band i liked at round at the time of joining this site, and i used it all the time in DoD and its since been my online name. I'm not into the band anymore but their "Wiretap Scars" album is still awesome. Everything i've heard from that band since hasn't been anywhere near as good as that album.

Plus, its a cool name

Haha that's a great story. I love calvin and hobbes.

Well My name is Henry, and I'm the ruler of a country...

EDIT: srsly though my real name is Derek, and my nickname used to be Dekster, but then I just changed it. First games I used it in were Neopets (don't hate me) and Runescape. Neither games I play anymore... Obviously.
And like Darkside, my pilot name in Armored Core is Dekstar. My AC names suck though.

As for now, In most CSS games I use the tag "Captain Bloodloss", which is from a Whose Line Is It Anyway game of Superheroes, where Colin Mochrie was given the same name. Other times I use the name Andy Pandy because it sounds childish, and other than that I use Harrogate Prostitute, even though I'm neither from Harrogate, nor am I a prostitute. No idea where I got those names.

i smoke nearley 9-10 cigars a day you can figure it out

Named myself after the same titled song by the amazingly insane band Mad Capsule Markets.

Yeah, I leak creativity :p

I've been using Raziaar since I first read about and then later played Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

I basically took the name Raziel, and adapted it to Raziaar and used it ever since in Dragonrealms and beyond.

I fcuking knew it! Every time I saw your name I thought of Raziel. But I wasnt sure if it had any relevance.

It spontaeonsly came into my head.

Wow, I misread that bad, and it gave me a terrifying mental image.

My username started out on PKMN.net years ago. I eventually shortened it from PsychoFreak to Psycho.

The name doesn't really represent about me. Honestly. :p

aha is my favourite band and I took lambda from the lambda complex in HL1

My dad created my Steam account: Zendance

but he spelt it wrong, so I made it Xendance - named after our favourite opposing force map.

Also, "iogg" - I joined a server on Opposing Force with the name "1066" and all of a sudden
the 1 changed to an i
the 0 changed to an o
and the 6 changed to a g

Back when I played Counter-Strike in grade 9, in 2001, I had spent two weeks trying to come up with a good alias. I had some pretty terrible ones. For a couple days I was Superman, and for a few others I was various animals for some reason... I think I thought it was really cool. But it really, really wasn't.

Then one day my friend came up to me at school and said "Hey, I know you're trying to think of a name for yourself, and yesterday I was reading on the internet and I came across a disease called 'stigmata'. I thought that'd be a pretty cool name for you, do you like it?" And it stuck ever since.

My alternate alias, Soupstorm, has a slightly less-interesting story behind it. When I got my Xbox 360, I tried to make my Xbox Live account "Stigmata", but it said the name was taken. So I went upstairs, found a random word generator through Google, and sat there clicking and throwing random words together until I came up with a combination that a) wasn't retarded or nonsensical, b) sounded good or catchy, and c) was unique. Soupstorm was the first one that wasn't shitty and also didn't come up in a Google search, so the next day I ended up deciding on that. And to this day, whenever you search for "Soupstorm" on Google, every single result is me. :D

My original name was Wakiwaki, I stole it from a friend. So I changed it to the one you see now. It's a reference to Beowulf.
