How do I articulate the arms of hostages in SDK Model Viewer?

...until there is an SDK help forum, this is my home :dozey:

well, read the title of the program:

model viewer

as opposed to model poser, or model maker, or model texturer, or even model animator.

you just use hlmv to see models that you've not only made, but compiled into a .mdl file.
the closest you might get to posing your hostie, is to play around with the different animations already compiled with the model.

the models can be posed, i know how to do the face, but i cant figure out how to pose them (i have seen screenshots of the hostages in cool gun poses)

No, those are premade animations.

I am %99.9 sure you can't completely pose every bone like you are describing...

Yea you would have to animate in the pose you want, but nobody knows how to do that yet AFAIK....

the sole purpose of hlmv is too let you preview your models as they'll look in the source engine, without actually loading it into source.
Yes you can blend the different premade face poses to create various facial expressions, but thats where it ends. Other then the blending sliders, you cannot control how the models is posed in hlmv.

if you saw some pose that is ubberly leet, its most likely because someone posed the model in an acutal 3d package, and exported it into a .mdl format so that the hlmv could render it.
