yeah, the fog is killing me, it obstructs the visibility of distant geographical and architectural features. is there a hack to turn it off?

God forbid!

Thats just draw distance kicking your ass, the game fades objects at a certain distance then stops "drawing" them altogether. Its like a tier system. Its all there to make sure your computer doesn't chug a lug, then bust a lung. Theres another topic around here with a remedy.

... If you have a shitty graphics card that is...

No, he is talking about the draw distance for the map itself. Example: The part where you look through the binaculars to see the G-Man in the distance, he wants to be able to see that side without the use of the binoculars.

yes Dumb Dude is right. Draw Distance, Fog, whatever it is called. Is there a remedy? I can't believe there are some many *cough* conformists *cough* HL2 players.

No, there isn't. Not that I'm aware of anyway

What the hell was that supposed to mean?

It is supposed to mean that maybe, and that's a big maybe, if enough people complain, Valve will release a fix.

It doesn't mean people are 'conforming' if they don't complain. The fog doesn't need fixing.

I don't remember thinking at any point in the game..'Hmmm, I don't think I can see far enough'

You may not like the draw distance, but it certainly doesn't need a 'fix', and why would the people on here complain if they felt that?

Its not a bug, so I don't know why there'd be a "fix"
If you read the thread, you'll see the question has already been answered.

Type that in the console and press enter.

The funniest thing i could think of for a 2000th post was to...

sneeze with your eyes open, but that might disable everything visually, in the game and real life. Good luck with that.

(and yay i guess...)

Hey Tak, is it me, or is this your second topic asking about a remedy to draw distance limitations?

The fog is there to mask the short draw distance. yes, you can turn it off, if you enable cheats, but instead of seeing fog, you will now see the distanced geometry clipping in and out in large levels. In other words, it will look like ass. The fog also masks the water horizon, and will make the coast levels look pretty bad. BAsically, I wouldn't suggest it.

You're probably better off with the fog on. That way you wont see as many sexual innuendos in the game. You know, with the fog on you wont see as many erect buildings now wont you. I mean the size of the citadel is very intimidating after all :dozey:

Ah, Bad rendering, sexual innuendos, suggestive buildings, where will it all end?
