Yeah.... The title pretty mutch tells it. But anyway;
I bought HL2 the day it came out in the stores. Witch mean that I bought the retail version (the one from the stores u know)
And it didnt include HLsource. And now I want to play HL1 again and of course HLs to have the nice physics and water effects. (also heard that u can have the npc's with you for like ages now :D).

So how do I get it? When I click purchase on steam the only offers is to buy HL2 silver or gold pack. And btw it says: Thank you bla bla.. You already bought HL2 bla bla...

best regards..

You buy it in another account and then give your old account to a friend so you can play together.

They hopefully will start selling individual games sometime in the near future. Not sure when though.

BJ gabe and i bet hell give it to u.. uh...

Oh I have a serious suggestion too: Wait for a mod to make it, I think the most anticipated is Black Mesa: Revisited, they will also update the tekstures.

What if you don't have a friend to give your old account to?

I wouldn't say it's that much better than the original. The graphics are a bit smoother, and ragdolls are still as fun as ever. But the water looks horribly out of place. It makes it look worse I think....

Either get a friend or keep it just in case your other account gets bant.

They shouldn't be allowed to do that. It's THEIR fault for not having HL: S as a seperate buyable game.
Greedy youknowwhats... :flame:

It's really not worth it. The original HL is worth many times more than HL:S with all of its mods.

They might release it in the future as a seperate product.

I don't know...

Seriously? Going by what they claim, this 1 is supposed to make the original HL have a face lift. With better water texture and lighting, and shadows and stuff that the old engine couldn't do.

LOL! I was planning to uninstall HL2 for HL: S! Because HL2's plot sucks. HL1 was better. Better as a "killing aliens from another planet" game, instead of a "saving your race from a bunch of Half-Human things that are killing your planet" game.

Which reminds me, when are we gonna see a "TFC: S"?

It's not that great of a face lift.

You could just wait for Black Mesa:Source which has considerably mroe work put in to it because HL:S was supposed to show how easy it is to convert mods over or something like that.

They're working on some TFC:S thing but in the meantime there's Fortress Forever.

:D

All Half-Life: Source is, is the original levels, monsters and sounds running on the Source engine. This means metal has specular effects on it, water looks better, we have source caliber shadows (IE: they all point in the same direction), and there's physics sprinkled here and there. (Things hanging from the ceiling, ragdolls(Extra fun with the crossbow) and there was a few tweaks to the gameplay here and there. (Like in the Office Complex where all the head crabs drop from the ceiling, in the original verison they only drop ones but in HL: Source, there's like 3 or 4 waves; also the skybox in a couple of places has been upgraded to Source tech, which makes the cliff level really neat.)

Really, if you've played the original HL, you're not missing anything big. Black Mesa: Source should be the big remake everyone's looking forward to. I just hope they don't screw something up. :D

Yeah, I noticed that. Realistic water just doesn't fit well when the rest of the game looks pretty much the same as it did 7 years ago. I'd just wait for Black Mesa: Source. You have nothing to lose other than time since it's still in development.

Do Not Get Half-life: Source, Wait For Black Mesa: Source

Stick with Halflife Generations with its ship load of mods

And how dare you say the story in HL2 was crap, i take offense to that
probably for the first time ever we have a thinking man's story, subtle, expertly woven into the game and experienced by the gamer not shoved down their throats
you're obviously too thick to get it

Ehhh... OK Thanks for all posts.. ^^^

btw. Black mesa suorce seems to be awesome =)
Can't wait though...... Wanna play righ now!!one11 :p

hehe.
