If my ram is set in dual channel? I recently put 2 sticks of Mushkin ram into my K8N Neo2 mobo and am not sure if it is in dual. I know to put the sticks into the matching colored spaces. Which in this case would be A and C or 1 and 3. Is there anyway to check if it is running in dual channel?

Well, did you buy the sticks dual channel? Or did you just buy two sticks?

If you just bought two sticks and stuck them both in, they aren't running dual channel because AFAIK you can't use dual channel unless you buy dual channel ram.

Mess with the bios. I'm never used dual channel ram but I think you have to change a bios setting for the mobo to recognize it in dual channel.

i have the exact same question, the same mobo also so i don't know where to put my sticks to make them run in dual channel if it's just slots 1 and 3 or what, please help us...

look at your mobo manual, should tell you guys everything you need to know in there. Also, you dont need a dual channel kit of RAM to have dual chan running, just 2 sticks of RAM.

usually two sticks of the exact same sticks of ram

On the neo2 platinum you have to place the ram sticks in opposing coloured DIMM slots. Its best to place them in the top two slots as thats channel A for this particular motherboard. Looks like someone dodn't read thier manual! :p

LOL. True. I did not read the manual as I thought (makes most sense) that for dual channel ram, they should both be in the same colored slots. But then I read the manual and put the one stick in the purple slot and had the other in the green and bam. Now I am running in dual channel. Will I notice it to be any faster that having it in single channel? What programs and what games would show me the difference between single and dual? Thanks a lot.

Depends, you may get away with totally avoiding sub-30fps (if you were already getting sub 30fps), other then that, doubtful.

Well, I have noticed something. Before out of dual channel, I could not ALT+Tab from CS S to my desktop, now I am able to without CS S freezing. Plus, it only took about 2 seconds to put it up.
