How do I take this off in my shower...

This drain is slowly clogging more and more. I've been trying to get it off..but I have no idea.

It's the one whre you push down and up not pull a lever or anything...

I've tried unscrewing it, but It won't move.

I have one of these too and I don't know if its possible to remove them or not but you could try. The article suggests putting it into the open position and then turning it counter-clockwise.

A better solution may be to use chemical uncloggers like Drano or baking soda. Look up up some tips online.

It's bolted from underneath in such a way that it can only be removed from underneath - spinning the top part just spins the whole thing, bolt and all. To save yourself having to pull drain tubing apart, just use some heavy duty drain cleaner.

Yeah, I've come to the conculsion that it needs drano

And the only reason it got that dirty is because how slow it drains! I mean, the dirt that you wash off just..clings to the wall of teh tub since it's slow draining.

Wipe up all the dirt and stuff with a cloth, use a seperate plastic bin or something with wash water. Nothing says it all has to try to drain out in the tub. Just don't use enough liquid that it has to drain at all

For the drano, do I fill the tub up a bit, then poor some in, or just stragiht some drano?

you could also see if you could unclog it with a paperclip or something, i've had to do that in my shower, pull the hair out ... it's pretty ****ing disgusting

If you have a minor blockage, fill the basin with water, get a mop, and use the mop like a plunger.

Believe me, that shifts anything. Otherwise you'll have to get underneath it and unscrew the large plastic nut that holds it on.

Might also be a blocked trap, which is easy to clear.

You should try to remove that drain and get one that is not stupid. Mine closes from underneath so up top it still appears open, and it's design allows me to drop in a little hair catcher thing so it won't clog.

None from me, though another male uses the shower..but with the water ankle high in no time...I don't think many people would want their jizz floating around their feet.
