It seems to me that quite a few of you spends wads of cash on everything from an xbox360 to the latest top of the line 7800gtx. How do pay for all this? wait for the poll

I had a part-time job in a suit store a while ago when I wasn't buying as much, so I saved it. It was originally for a moped and a license, but I realised there was no point as it wouldn't really do anything for me. My girlfriend told me how much I could spend per month on stuff I wanted, and then I quit my job. I actually lent a bit of it out, and now I'm getting it back, so I've put some aside and all so I can get a 360 before uni next year. My cash is running low right now, so I need a new job, natch.

My parents pay for my food etc. though (unless I'm going out) so it's good otherwise.

Well, actually, I can't afford everything. But since this upcoming February, I can.

My Dad is 62 and retired so he can get social security now. And since I'm 15, I get some SS too. A whopping $900 a month.

Actually, I'm going to save about half or more for college, and then the rest is blowing money. Woot@government.

Warez for personal use. (E.g. video editing software for school)
Or games that I'd like to try before I buy (Like BF2, going to buy it  )

I have no job, live away from home, and can't afford games :D

God bless Student loan :)

Part-time job as a pharmacist allowing me purchase what I want, with a limit of course. :)

i have only bought 2 games in the last year
hl2 and bf2
best value purchases i've ever made imo

I warez everything, unless it is multiplayer or half life 2 affiliated. I warezed battlefield 2 then bought a cd key off ebay for 20 bones. But I always seed what I warez.

I don't really have a habit. I buy about 5 games a year (although less this year). Just finished being a student, so that full time job should be coming soon. Won't be spending it on games all that much, it'll be going towards living costs and investments no doubt. I'll probably get Civ 4 and Aftermath though.

qfe, the last game i bought was hl2, and my pc's got a ti4200 and 256mb of ram

Same, hl2 was my last game. I've got some kind of mobility radeon in my laptop and a Geforce 4MX which is awful.

What "Last One In" said, anything Half-Life 2 related or multiplayer based I buy. I used to buy PS2 games, but I've stopped since they financially scar my wallet - I only buy them if I'm going to get them very very cheap or I know I will get loads of value out of it (GTA series). Last game I bought was Battlefield 2/FEAR and will be for a while. I'm currently a student by the way. I'm very careful with my money these days, which is a good thing.

I work as a paper boy and I wake up at 3 am every morning! Its hard but I make $350 al week.

I do web design/programming and I get money from my website so that covers all my expenses nicely. :D

Damn. I am 17 and I am making a steady income without doing much, I feel special. :P All my friends work at fast food places or offices or things and I just sit at home making pretty graphics every once in awhile and get a check in the mail every month :P

Holy shit, thats equivalent to £6,000 a year from the government. Marry me.
How the ****? I get £4195 [student loan] but I'm pissing that away :|

Do you deliver gold newspapers?

I had a paper round when I was 13, £14 a week for 6 days of morning work.

It was shite.

BTW: Some ppl WORK hard and may not even get that amount. That's crazy, does everyone over 15 get this kind of money? You could live on that.:rolling:

obviously # 2 for me ...I have the money but would rather spend it on other things. I like a deal when I see one even though I can afford the full price ..a deal is still a deal. I limit my purchases to games I really want, no use on spending $50 on a game I may only play a few times (I'm looking at you Battlefield Vietnam)

Good condoms are expensive aren't they :p

I've got me a full time job. And with recent qualifications and pay rises means more money to burn a hole in my pocket. :P

And shame on you folks and your warez. :hmph:

You're right. Donate here to my fund.

I have a part time shop in a super market, i buy all my own games and pc equipment. Student loan pays for food, rent and social life. I get a small allowance from my dad a but that goes on my girlfriend and savings for xmas.

I have no money!

I graduated from college back in '99. I've been working full time since the end of '99. No family, no house and very cheap rent. Having said that though, I just bought my second game of the year and I'm picking it up at lunch. I pretty much quit gaming but Civ 4 is going to end that real quick. Next purchase will probably be the Revolution.

Part time job in a supermarket, most money spend on booze or music, don't buy games much anymore, BF2 takes up all my time :E Though did just order Football Manager 2006 of Amazon

*Feels tip of moustache*
Ahahaha!

(no moustache smiley though :()

I had a job over summer and got about £2000... Most fo that is now gone :(
I get £20 a week EMA... bt i lost the form to get ym money >_<

I work full time , got a job in retail been their 9 years, I have car bills, rent, Bestbuy bill, Visa bill, and i still have lots of money leftover to buy pretty much anything. Thats the good thing about living at home :) Life has been really good, for i have never went to college or anything. I even mod my car on the side just got a Z couplr months ago.

 I have an idea.

1. Get empty web sites.
2. Place tons of ads on them... as many as you can find.
3. Place links on each site to all of the other ones.
4. Everyone downloads a program like HTTrack.
5. Start it off on one site, letting it go like two or three links deep and out of the original domain... so it would go to all of our pages and then click on all of the ad links.
6. Get everyone to schedule the program to run at a certain interval... maybe once a day.
7. Hire someone to count the money!

It skips the whole boring part about actually making a popular site with decent content and goes straight to the ad revenue. If everyone at halflife2.net participated it would generate quite a few hits... or we could make our own virus that makes other people's computers go to our sites... and distribute it as part of Zombie Master (as a pun, since we would be turning their computers into zombies). That should cover our gaming expenses. Well, nevermind... forget the virus thing. Is the rest of it legal?

Wow, that was pretty harsh... I'm sure you spent money like there was no tomorrow when you were a young 'un (presuming you're not a young 'un)

I have a full time job that allows me to buy games cheaply, and then play the ones I don't buy.

Although I would say thats true in most cases, but I doubt it on this forum, since most of us are students.

I got a job paying 7.25 under the table, manual labor. That payed for my entire rig (except for the hsf).

I doubt anybody's actually gonna admit to being a cornucopia kid.
