3.8mb DSL. Just upgraded from 2mb and pay ?3 a month less. Go figure.

you forgot
1.) 28.8k modems
2.) ISDN
3.) IDSL
I used to use all those.

Yeah but isn't wireless way more prone to interference?
How about lag and bandwidth?

From my personal experience Wireless sucks but it all depends on the equipment and location. For instance, the connection will completely drop on my laptop even if it's right next to the router. When it works it's quite nice though but I've decided to stick to ethernet for the desktop.

I'm on 1MB but it's not bad since I live in a Village. Could upgrade to 3MB but I bet it wouldn't be any faster knowing Pipex.

Pfft, my wireless works flawlessly, the routers on the ground floor and I can get a good signal from the attic bedroom, 3 floors up.

I have wireless system and it's working almost flawlessly. Sometimes the signal is missing on my laptop though

I have dial-up (4-6 KB/s).

I only have it because of where I live, there is absolutely nothing else, no other options of internet here what-so-ever (I'm in the country).

I used to be like that. The SECOND cable internet was available, I was on the phone.

I remember the dial-up days.

The early filesharing days (napster) were kind of funny because most people either had 56k or DSL/T1, but there were actually people with 14.4k modems. ICK.

Fiber 100/100mbit/s

It's a uni connection though, so I can't set up servers (since the Uni only got one IP out) but torrents is maxing out at around 10-11MB/s and they got a campus DC hub which is basically local network in terms of speed.

The network/backbone itself is super fast. It's the same backbone they used to break the download/upload record 1-2 years ago. They upgraded the network since then to IPv6 and upped the speed even more... so they say it's the fastest/most reliable backbone in the world :)

In the military 8/1 DSL, at my mums 24/2 DSL, at my dads 12/1 cable and at my girlfriend 100/100 fiberoptic.

i connect through my pubic strands and download porn directly into my testicles and then when i am in the mood to game, i will strap my facial hair to an xbox 360 pad and blow my asshole away on xbox live

VERY
GOD
DAMM
SLOWLY
On 256K at the moment but am getting 24mbit ADSL2+ tomorrow (shakes with excitement) and for the same price as I'm paying now (18GB dload)

1000mbps VDSL/Direct Laser Pulse Fiber Optic

1000mbps VDSL/Direct Laser Pulse Fiber Optic

How is that possible? VDSL2 is maxed out in "theory" at 200-250mbit at the source (You won't get those speeds). Sounds more like fiber to me, since lasers are used in rare cases to transfer wirelessly fiber traffic to the backbone.

Well my computer picks up a wireless lan signal from the computer down stairs. That computers connects via 56k. Yes 56k. There is nothing better around here. Suck's balls.

You can get Satelite Internet.

Anyways, I'm on Shaw Cable.
Worse service ever, I'm paying for 5 mb/s, I'm getting 1, 2 on good days

You can get Satelite Internet.
Ah yes so instead of having ~250 ping I can have a ~2000 ping! Have a limited amount of bandwidth and pay much more just so I can download faster on non-rainy/snow days!

No thanks.

I use DSL. Its not that bad, but then again Ive never known anything better.

im not exactly sure what it is that's hooked up.. downloads go at 30-50 kilobytes per second, but games will usually run ok. Some games' online multiplayer I can kiss goodbye, though.
