How do you do a level transition?

I looked on Interlopers, as well as a quick search on the forums for "level transitions". Didn't find anything. Anyone have a tutoral on how to trigger a new map to load?

(I don't know how big is too big for a HL2 map, current map sits at 2218x1762x490, but there is quite a bit of white space in that figure because there's three floors, and not all the rooms extend to that height. (Some only as big as the floor they represent.) Just wondering if it would be good to put a map transition in there, because I got a logical place for it anyway.)

Second reason is my 3 2-D views are getting pretty cluttered, and if I stop on this for a day or two and come back to it, I won't know WHAT I'm looking at.

(Once again, I need to be taught HOW to do it if I should...)
Comments? Instructions? Would be great. Thanks.

pic of map ? :D just want so see what it looks like out of interest

Thanks for the link. I am not a professional map maker. lol. I do this for fun. So, yes its boxy, and probably not done in the nicest neatest way, but this morning I knew what I was looking at. lol. Called "re", nothing but zombies at the moment. Hmmm not that this is inspired by a certain videogame or movie... *cough* At anyrate:

(Oh, and why are all the rooms individual boxes? I was going for that whole door-transistion thing that RE does when you change rooms. I lack a door animation to play while teleporting though. ;) That and lazyness- though in hindsight, standard doors would have been easier. btw, where the frack are the Ravenholm saw-blades?)

Favorite part? The bent door, RE4. *grins* (I know it has a few texture problems.) I don't mind critisizm, but please don't be harsh. I do this for fun, not to win awards.
