Do you steal from houses? Is it the same as in Morrowind like when you hide behind a pillar they can't see you?

Questing, and stealing from the home my eliminated target lived in

looting the Mage Guilds can be quite lucrative i find...

Arena fights :D My last bout with 3 minotaur lords netted me 2800 gold :)

My last few quests got me a lot of gold too.

i steal everything that is above 20 gold

Doing Quests and selling worthless crap.

Ogre teeth’s gave me over 600 gold pieces once, pretty sweet.

On my level 21 character, I would clear out a duengon of vampires and have more than enough to sell - had some 20,000g, decided to start a new character today.

Yeah, it's gotten to the point where I'm dropping equip worth 500 because it weighs too much and I need room for the real valuable stuff.

I just blew about 12k on buying a house in Leyawiin and stocking it with all the furnishings and after a quest I'm already back up past 22k again.

Can you buy furniture, like chests and tables?

Unfortunately it's just sets of furnishings you buy such as bedroom set, study area set, wall hangings, storage area, kitchen, dining etc.

Here's a quick walkthrough of my little house in Leyawiin.

so you can move into his house, how would i do that?

Rape his body and get his house key, then it's pretty much yours. You can't buy furnishings, but you can store stuff there and it doesn't disappear.

I wish that getting gold in WoW was as easy as it is in Oblivion,
Anyway i get most of my gold from the arena and houses.

You can get loads of expensive loot from pods in Oblivion realm.

I only get like 50g for Arena? Although only killed 2 peeps.

i am doing his quests atm but decided just to kill him to see if i could live in his house(ill go back to a previous save though as i wanna see whats up with this guy), unfortunately when i entered his house i couldnt rest or sleep in his bed as i was ''trespassing'', but hes DEAD!!

I made 2.5k from the Arena. If you have a good sword, enchant it with something that does about 10dmg and you whoop ass. :D

The first few opponents are easy. A few blocks and 2-3 "electric touches" (25 dmg) does it. Then it gets a bit harder, those damn bastards can strike immediately after they block my hit, while it doesn't usually work like this for me :p

Today I made over 3k fighting in the Arena, I'm now a Hero. Let's see if I can make it to the Great Champion today :) It shouldn't be too far away from this rank.

You better enjoy not being Grand Champion because afterwards: [SPOILER ABOUT GRAND CHAMPION FIGHTS] You fight animals and such. Sure, you still get 600 or 800 gold for fighting these but the fights are only once a week. Which sucks.

They become a lot more worthwhile after a few matches. Last one I earned 2800 gold. I can only imagine what they'll send at me next and how much it'll be worth.

I AM NOW THE GRAND CHAMPION! that and thievery is how i get my money! :D :D :D

Only about 1000 right now. I have found in the past the game can be kind of ruined for me if I make it too easy by rushing through everything and/or stealing everything in sight.

I found that as a low level mage you can make some decent amounts of gold making a bunch of alchemic potions and then selling them. I only keep ones that restore health or magicka. I found a quick way to throw together tons of potions in minutes and explode through the alchemy skills. There is a garden in the Archane University that has tons of stuff to freely pick.

Ack! Beat me to it! Yes, this is by far the easiest way of making loads of gold. Just mix your own and sell! Takes no time and nets big rewards. And this is the best place for ingredients...plus its right next to the enchantment podium, so there's a lot of good stuff there.

Are there plants near the enchantment podium or just the hardware like mortar/pestle, etc? I'm not positive if I know where you're talking about. Is this the same place where you went to the guy in the white robes regarding your staff? I did pick up a calcinator from the shelf that was suprisingly a legal action.

I need more good places to harvest plants for potion making. I blew through all the stuff in the Archane U. garden in an hour. If you have any other ideas please let me know.

No, nothing near the podium. I was just saying that it was relatively close to that room for everyone who hasn't been there yet. Sorry to get your hopes up!

Me too. They grow back, but it takes a little while. I don't know of any place as concentrated as that for ingredients unfortunately. I just pick up whatever I see from my wanderings...and I wander a lot. One of the things I am doing with my new character is wandering everywhere first to (potentially) discover every location first, then I can fast travel to them with ease when I decide to get my quest on.

That's cool. I didn't know stuff grew back. Wonder how many game days it takes or if it's random. That's a good idea about wandering to all the new places. I'm becoming way to reliant on fast travel and I'm afraid I'm missing out on too much. I think once I run out of the newest set of dungeons/forts/caves that I've just discovered I'll "walk the earth" as Jules from Pulp Fiction once said.

I want to say like 3 game days for most stuff to grow back, but I might be a little off.

Fast travel is great when you want to get a quest done, but there is no substitute for walking around and discovering the TONS of places to go to level up/find loot/kill enemies/practice skills/etc. I just can't believe how much stuff is in this game. Not only is the world packed with clutter like tables, plates, fruit, barrels and such, but it is also really cluttered with dungeons/ruins/shrines/villages/etc. Very very immersive.

Wish you could fight on horseback though. Legend of Zelda:Twillight Princess ftw!

Another thing you can do is clean out a mages guild of all their food/reagents, and then make potions & then sell them to the mage guild alchemist. Won't make a lot of $$$, but it's a great way to level up your alchemy too.

And then in a day or 2 you can clean it out again.
