How do you open roadblocks?

I'm trying to get to the train station, I've come across barricades / roadblocks. Nothing I do has any effect of anything ... I just end up fighting antlions until i die.

What the heck am I supposed to do ... this is really irritating.

Can you give a few more hints? Or a few screenshots would help.

You don't open it really.

You need to use the grav gun to push the cars over the antlion nests. Stop them coming and the action will move on to the roadblock.
