How do you read threads?

I will read the first few pages... since I have my settings at like 40 posts a page. If it's longer than three, I go to the last page and see what the current situation is. Other times, I go straight to the fast reply box like right now.

It really just depends on how interesting the topic is, or if the sample of replies I read is really boring I'll skip the rest and just look at the last post to see if I can make a witty reply to it.

But sometimes if it's a question thread like this I'll read the OP and reply, ignoring all other posts.

I just read the first couple of posts and if it intresting i keep reading and post a reply

You make it sound as if there's more than just the same dozen people on this board who post in every single thread.

It really depends. If the discussion is interesting enough I'll read through the whole thing. If the thread's exceedingly long (over eight pages), or if the conversation is dull but there are posters I want to address (or if I'm just addressing the OP directly), I might just scroll down to the quick reply box and start typing away.

I know I stop anytime I see that red avatar.

I look for threads with interesting titles...I usually skip the personal issues threads and just look at interesting news articles.

Pick out enticing titles, regardless of creator.
