How Do You Take Screenshots Desktop?

I wanna take a screenshot of my desktop, but idk how, Some poeple here know, so TELL ME BEFORE I KILL YOU!! ARGHHH!

Paste into MSPaint / Image Editing Proggy -> save as .jpg / .png

There should be a 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard, probably located above the 'Insert' key. Well press it. Go to into MS Paint or some other image editing program. Ctrl+V. Save.

Also, something I found out in school today, if you press alt+Prt Scr, it will take a screenshot of the top window, cropped and everything. So if you just want a screenie of your, say, AIM window, just have it be the selected window. Saves a lot of cropping time in photoshop.
