How far left?

I have a bit of a problem. I get to the level where im in the blue tower and the scientist is just leaving in that bubble with the portal opening in the sky. However when i get to the top walkway my pc freezes and it does it at exactly same spot all the time so i can no longer continue. Is there much of the game left after this?

On opening up the console it says

Scene 'scenes\citadel\al_weak.vcd' missing!

Anyone any ideas?

btw maybe have a spoiler on the thread name, i would say that the file 'al_weak.vcd'' is missing =] and my solution would be to reinstall halflife 2, or ask someone for the file/s. As Para said; you have brought the game...right?

yes game is bought a friend has given me his original. I thought it was down to a missing file. If I reinstall the game and same happens. I guess I could get the file from the CD if i did a search but where would I place the file?

Sorry Dasparov I didnt realise you were joking. Just get annoyed with people who post useless information on ppls posts. Hope you accept my apolgy. Why buy it when you have friends to pass it on when theyve finished you immature little brat. Besides I bought a Radeon 9800XT so it comes bundled with it in the post. probably take a few months so why should I buy it when Im entitled to it free?

Have you tried validating your steam files?

Since a file is missing, it ought to figure it out...

That link should work if you have Steam installed - besides, how can you even run the game if it's been passed on from your friend? Did he actually gave his account to you?

prob why it doesnt work then ive im writing this on my work computer and not my games machine :E yep im using his steam account. As will only have this game from steam as I usually only play flight simulators. It doesnt look like im going to get help here just looks like a carry on from most of the posts around here. Seems the majority of people act as Steam Police around here. I have already made the point I havent bought this game and that I am entitled to a copy so im not going to go and buy the thing am I :frown: If you havent got this small file to send me please dont post and let this post slide away. If your posting with regards to have I got a legit copy stop being a loser and actually get a life! OPen your curtains and look out the window there is a whole world out there. This post isnt to offend everyone just losers who think they owe steam something. The people who I admire on here are the people who just get on with it and offer advice and dont care how person got game.
