How good is Halo?

Since Half life 2 has been delayed for 7 months, I am going to buy something else instead.

I am tempted by Halo but Iwant to know whether it's any good or just overhyped.

anyhow, Halo RULES. Get it, it will more than hold you over, trust me(even tho you dont know me, lol) Theres an easy way to mod stuff (make warthog turret shoot tank missiles, ect) and make it more fun. Altho I wont tell how

Halo is sooo boring. the good bits comprise of about 2% of the game. most of the time you're killing generic enemies in areas that you've been to about 500 times before. and on top of that it runs like a bitch even if you've got a top notch system. and the most annoying thing ever is that damn stupid targetting reticle. who the HELL want's a crosshair that ****in big??!?!

the only reason to own this on PC is for the multiplayer. it's fairly decent.

Halo for pc - the single player is exactly the same as on xbox
performance - the graphics aren't that great (they are from years ago) and for some reason the performance is poor even on maxed out systems. this is the only bad part about the game i found.
Fun - i found this game to be pretty fun. its just like halo for xbox. multiplayer is lots of fun, just like gettin the gang together for a halo matchup
bottom line - if you liked halo for xbox, you'll like halo for PC. Make sure your computer easily handles the minimum requirements for the game.

Halo is GREAT fun. bought it on monday, and have been playing it ALOT. It runs GREAT for me, over 60fps at 1024x768, and runs fine for my neighbor as well.

I dont' see why people are complaining about the grapics, they are actually very good, especially some of the effects.

So far I give it 2 thumbs up!

Well I personally dont think it looks all that bad, I really enjoyed it, I play it everyday. The multiplayer is a blast. I love it. I give it a 9 of 10.

Halo PC sucks, a really horrible port, shitty graphics and 90's gameplay, STAY AWAY!
Now Freedom Fighters is an excellent port and a blast game (same physics as HL2).

Multiplayer is fun and chaotic, in a good way. Personally, I think the graphics are some of the best yet, not counting games that aren't out. Especially if you have at least a Geforce 3 so you can enjoy all the nice bump mapping, etc. I can play with all setting on max at 800x600 and the game looks pretty sweet. Singleplayer is a little lame for a fps - you have to go through many areas twice in the game. Well some of them aren't supposed to be the same place, but they look exactly the same. Level design is probably some of the worst to come in a while. I only finished the singleplayer just to say I did it - I don't plan on doing it again unless someone releases a coop mod. So I wouldn't buy it unless you really plan on getting your money's worth in multiplayer.
