how large will hl2 be with all these preloads?

It's going to be a bit longer than HL1, I think. The first time I went through HL1, it took me a good while to beat.

Weird, if I fully extract the first preload GCF (size = 1 GB) the extracted one is 800 MB :O
Try it, I'm not sure mine was fully correct because I had a low space error and had to clean up before GCFscape could continue.

I do believe we are looking at at least two more loads guys...I think it was Doug who said there would be 2 or 3 more after that initial...we've gotta assume it's the latter. Plus they'll probably go back on that just like everything else, and add one more to replace files they decided could be upgraded or changed in some way. I'm not convinced based on their track record that what we have is really stuff that will absolutely not change. They could alway upgrade a texture...etc.

Then again what do I know?
