< 2 weeks - for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they released it on Steam before it was available at retail. That's just a smart idea, because the game is so highly anticipated.

That's another reason why it will take a short time -- the amount of anticipation that has been around for the game.

i say about 2 weeks, but

just say someone at vivendi stole it and gave it to a release group and it was available to play the full game on the internet before its release (like doom 3)

would you download it?
assuming you were going to buy it anyway, which i hope we all are.

3-5 Weeks. It's simple;

Vivendi needs to make 4 million copies for retail the coming release month.

It needs to be launched simoultaneously

It will atleast take 3 weeks to do that. And probably more considered the all the copies they have to make.

The golddate itself might take some time as well. I reckon 2-4 weeks from 15th september to it's manufactoring is beginning.

I think they will take almost a week, VU isnt doing to gr8 so they will be keen to get HL2 on the shelf, I believe release Date will be October 6th - 20th

Basically the poll means 2 weeks MAX, 3 weeks MAX, 4 weeks MAX...It's more like what you think will be the max time VU will test the game.
