Not in PC Gamer uK it didn't.

It got a 90% score in PCGamer Sweden (Doom3).
That's REALLY bad if you remind yourself of the fact that they rate "HL" class games with 97 and 98%. No game I've ever seen has gotten 99-100%.

Do you guys realize how great of a score that is? Think of how much the standards have changed since half life 1, and for half life 2, to get a 96% in today's gaming community is a feat not easily done. It looks like Half Life 2 will be even BETTER than half life 1, which is no surprise.

Uh it might be worth putting down the country your in when citing rating. PCgamer UK != PCgamer US

I think Warcraft 2 got a 96 from PCgameUS
And it is true, 90% is 90/100, not 4 stars out of 5, not an 8 out of 10, but a 90/100 or 9/10.

Just because we've seen most games get over 70% doesn't mean most games don't fall in there.

And an FPS game is expected to have a deathmatch/Multiplay much moreso than any RPG and to some extent, RTS game. Especially when it has this much hype behind it : / . some great games get 80% scores

I believe all of this "HL2 got a 1% to 5% better score than Doom3 HL2 pwns j00, Doom3 fanboy!" would make you a PCGamer fanboy. Just a thought =).

Let's wait and see what it plays like people. I thought Doom3 deserved an 80-85, though I really enjoyed the game; I don't give a crap what PCGamer thinks about the game in their little magazine. From what I've seen HL2 has lots of potential still. Guess we'll be finding out soon enough though!
