the red cross used much of this money on hotels, buses, and doling out checks to people who needed food and whatnot. What did the victims do with that money? spent it on strip clubs, alcohol, drugs and whatnot! (not everyone, but a lot) Now they complain that they are still struggling to get back on their feet. I'm sorry but we gave you money to help you get back on your feet. Those of you who chose to spend it on sex, alcohol, and drugs will get sympathy from me because it was your choice on how your check was spent. Giving people more money when they blew what we gave them the first time is really quite stupid. I hate to sound heartless but we're helping you a lot more than most people who lose their homes in natural disasters and have no insurance. My uncle lost his home due to a natural flood and had no flood insurance, no one came by and built him a new house.

how much is "not everyone, but a lot"?

sources?

...hearsay, speculation, conjecture, opinion based on what exactly

without a proper argument, without sources your post is just an opininated rant

A lot of racists coming out of the woodwork here in the last few days, whats going on.

Do you have any idea how much each person got? Do you have any idea how many people were ****ed over by their insurance companies that made up fradulent reports which they then used to justify not paying these victims anything?

From your post its pretty clear you don't know wtf you are talking about.

Mind blowing stuff. I especially liked the hard-hitting facts you presented.

My uncle lost his home due to a natural flood and had no flood insurance, no one came by and built him a new house.
Your uncle's flood probably wasn't caused by a break in a government-built levee cause by a hurricane it was rated to withstand.

Also, many of the people did spend their checks frivilously, but the vast majority did not.

PROVE IT.

Teh State had nothing to do with Katrina's lack of relief. It is not the goverment's fault. There was no problem with Katrina in the first place. There was no lack of relief, and the nonexistant problem was not the fault of the federal agencies.

YOU WILL OBEY. COMPLY! COMPLY!

Sources, everyone, please.

Mississippi attorney general files lawsuit against insurance companies

BILOXI, Miss. (CNN) -- Amid reports that insurance companies may be taking advantage of Hurricane Katrina victims, Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood filed a lawsuit Thursday against five insurers in his state, his press office said.

Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance, State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., Allstate Property and Casualty Co., United Services Automobile Association and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. were listed as defendants in the suit.

The suit asks that certain provisions in policies offered by these companies be declared "void and unenforceable." Those provisions exclude from coverage much of the property loss and damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.

The suit also seeks to prohibit the insurers from using these provisions when adjusting property claims. "The companies will try to work with the policyholders to resolve this issue," Bill Davis of the Insurance Information Institute, a trade group, told CNN. "There may have to be engineering studies done to determine what caused the damage." (Posted 2:11 p.m.)

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/16/katrina/main2691098.shtml

Jim Neva, a surveyor and engineer who inspected the house for Allstate, initially told Robert Weiss, who is listed as the policy holder, and his wife, Merryl, that wind may have destroyed the home before the surge of water washed away its remnants.

He later backed off that conclusion, and deferred to engineering consultant Craig Rogers of Rimkus Consulting Group. Rogers, who wrote the final report on the home for Allstate, convinced Neva that storm surge demolished the house.

Rogers said he didn't personally inspect the property until after he wrote the report. He said he based his conclusions in part on evidence gathered by other Rimkus engineers ? a practice he described as common. But Trahant questioned the move.

"Why did Allstate elect to rely on the one engineer who never set foot on the property until long after he stamped his report?" Trahant said in closing arguments.

Apparently you guys don't watch the news much. It was all over that a lot of the Katrina victims were spending relief money to TVs, jewelry, etc...

I'm currently looking for sources.

how much is a lot? 10? 20? 200? 1000? the examples posted by No Limit provides a glimpse into a much bigger problem victems of katrina face ...yet people cling to these isolated incidents (strippers, extravagant purchases) because it justifies their own racism/bigotry/jerk-off-istry

So why are the states responsible for providing the federal government troops for that meat grinder that we call Iraq. By your logic all national guard troops and all their equipment should come home.

Apparently you watch way too much...fox "news" right?

Well, if I had my way, there would be no national guard. Only Central Military.:cheese:

Yeah, and I was joking. :p

Does anyone else hate it when Katrina gets brought up in the arguement for global warming?

Yes, it's off-topic, but it still bugs me.

EDIT: Besides, I'm doubting we're going to get any good sources out of the OP.

HL2addict: Madonna hates you now. But then again, Madonna is a washed up sell-out now! :p (referring to her "hey you" video)

Icarus, Cindy Shithead blamed hurricane Katrina on global warming. Then of course she also blamed Bush for it because he didn't sign Kyoto! :)

NoLimit, I'm curious, what exactly do you mean when you say "A lot of racists coming out of the woodwork here in the last few days, whats going on."? I want an answer to that. Are you implying that he's a racist? Wait, that's actually what you just did. That really is a retarded form of logic you've got going on there, and you know it.

Wow, nemesis, you got me, congratulations. I really didn't want anyone to find out I was calling him a racist, eventhough I directly called him a racist. ;(

Your reading comprehension is incredible today, back on the hooked on phonics program again are we?

Now turn down the jive cause I'd like to persue this matter if you don't mind:

Why do you call him a racist?

hey, I indirectly called the ideas behind this thread racist ...do I not get Nemesis love or is that only reserved for No Limit? ;(

Now turn down the jive cause I'd like to persue this matter if you don't mind:

Why do you call him a racist?

Well, maybe because he's a racist?

That explain it for ya or do you need more information.

You're dodging the question. What did he write that was racist?

Umm...

You're too funny nemesis.

No. You're a Canadian.

oh so that's how it's gonna be ..racist against canadians or as I like to call it the old "I cant possibly win in an argument so I'll just attack his nationality instead ..I be smart" excuse

NoLimit, you failed again. You just posted his entire message. I read his message, and there is NOTHING racist there. I bet that the logic you're using is that because New Orleans is a largely non-white city, he's racist. That's logical fallacy as some put it.

Oh, I think I see now. This is the text as it appeared: "What did the victims do with that money?". This is what YOU saw: "What did the ******s do with that money?"
Just admit it: It was stupid to call him racist when he didn't say anything that could qualify as racist commentary.

I think we're done here; You've recognized how retarded a thing that was to say by now, you're just too stubborn to admit it, so I'll rest my point if you don't have any more bullshit to spew.

I think you've recognized how retarded a thing that was to say by now so I'll rest my point if you don't have any more bullshit to spew.

Yup, you win nemesis. That make you happy? I'm retarded, you're a phonics scholar.

Yet I'm still waiting for those sources.

Hmm, nemesis's google page must be in hyperdrive right now. Still came up with no sources there buddy? I waited all night for the OP to post em, when do you think you'll have them?

I don't care about the sources. He voiced his opinion, and you called him a racist, so I called you on your bullshit. Are you really so stupid that I have to go through what he posted with you? I'll gladly do so if you really want me to rub it in your face.

I see google failed you nemesis. Don't feel bad, thats what happens when you comment on something before you do any real research on it.

TBH, Nemesis has a point. You made a judgement based off of one poorly written paragraph. It's not difficult to see how you made it, but it is strictly an opinion which cannot be backed up unless we have more info about the OP. That being said, the OP seems to have disappeared.

I never searched for any sources. I don't care about what happened after Hurricane Katrina to be honest. I see you insist on being an idiot, so I'll go through what he said with you. Statement first, conclusion underlined about each one.

the red cross used much of this money on hotels, buses, and doling out checks to people who needed food and whatnot.

Not racist.

What did the victims do with that money? spent it on strip clubs, alcohol, drugs and whatnot! (not everyone, but a lot)
I doubt that a majority of them did if that's what he's implying here. Still, not racist.

Now they complain that they are still struggling to get back on their feet.

Not racist.

I'm sorry but we gave you money to help you get back on your feet.

Not racist.

Those of you who chose to spend it on sex, alcohol, and drugs will get sympathy from me because it was your choice on how your check was spent.

Not racist.

Giving people more money when they blew what we gave them the first time is really quite stupid.

The majority would most likely spend it wisely, but this is still not racist.

I hate to sound heartless but we're helping you a lot more than most people who lose their homes in natural disasters and have no insurance.

Not racist.

My uncle lost his home due to a natural flood and had no flood insurance, no one came by and built him a new house.

Not racist.

Do you disagree with any of my conclusions? I want you to tell me if you do, or drop this.

You have to excuse me, I got sick of having serious discussions with nemesis a long time ago. Its a pointless loop you will get in to where you will end up banging your head into a wall.

If you look at the fact that 70% of the New Orleans population before the storm hit was black you have to understand that people making these idiotic assumptions about all the people spending their money on hookers and strippers with absolutely no back up could only mean they made those assumptions based on race. You didn't hear these same idiotic claims when 9/11 hit, you don't hear it when 100 homes burn down in Malibu. But when it happens to a largely black population you get these "reports" of wide spread carnige, people killing eachother, rape, hookers, drugs, with absolutely no backup or sources. It happened with the superdome, suddenly every media outlet was reporting about people killing eachother, rape going on, and all kinds of other shit that was proven to never had actually happened. In essence they made it up based on their racist phsyche.

So I stand by my statement that the OP is racist since he couldn't provide us with information where he got this racist information from so it must have come from his head. The sad part is you had people like nemesis jump on and say that they agreed with him.

Does anyone else hate it when Katrina gets brought up in the arguement for global warming?

If it was just Katrina, then yes, it would be stupid to blame GW. But Katrina is just one example in a row of more and bigger natural disasters.

I hate to brake it to you, No Limit, but Nemesis is right.

No where does the thread starter mention race at all. The fact that New Orleans has a certain ethnic mix (which you think may be the cause for the original post) is totally irrelevant, because the poster isn't using it.

Whether or not you THINK the original poster was making a claim based on the racial characteristics of a certain group, it's tough, since the original poster made no attempt to include these as reasoning for his argument. You're just making a blind assumption.

So you only SPECULATE that he's racist, right, NoLimit? That's ok, even if you don't have any proof. What's NOT ok is treating your speculation as proof. Second, you just ****ed up again: You just claimed that I have said I agreed with him. As of yet, I have not agreed with him.

Nemesis is right.
Easy now, that quote might hunt you later on in life.

Its unbelievably naive to think that.

Do you honestly beleive that these FALSE (proven false) accusations happen when this kind of disaster happens in white areas? The simple answer is no. You don't hear this shit when this type of disaster happens in manhattan or in malibu. So if you honestly don't think that when someone makes up shit about how people in black areas spend their relief money on hookers, strippers, and drugs has nothing to do with race you sir are extremely naive. Of course he isn't going to say flat out that he thinks black people do this, but when you look at what he said his position is pretty damn clear.

I also have a very hard time calling that racist. As LLama said, the op didn't come out and say, "because they're black, they spent the money sent to them on alcohol, drugs and hookers". There was no mention of race, at all.

However, he did make a rather ludicrous claim to which he backed up with a steaming pile of bullshit. Until there's a source, it's pretty simple...the op's not racist, he's just another moron.
