Well how much?
I mean looking at how South Park makes fun of family guy, and really uses the names and looks of that show in their own show. Same with robot chicken, when they make fun of other series or movies they literally use the names and everything. I doubt they got permission for all of that. So what does the law say about that?
Can you do the same with games, like make a game full of parodies on other games, but still use the actual namea and looks of those chars. L

Well I think the only reason the producers of South Park don't have a major lawsuit on their hands is because the so called intended "victims" don't take the show seriously, and they shouldn't.:E

I bet in videogames will not be the same

Read the notice thingy at the begining of south park, i guess thats how they get around copyright.

Yeah, they have never had any characters from other shows. Any likenesses were purely coincidental.

South Park is just....lol....

How did they come up with that whale episode(1st episode of the season)? You have to wonder...how on earth......what mind would have the....creativity to even...begin to thinking about sending a whale to space...and designing a story around it..

we'd have quite an uproar if they did....

You know, when I was in America, people always told me I had died and it was in relation with South Park. :/

Never understood their behavior.

Robot chicken is made using stupid dolls and clay crap so I dont think anyone cares.

Evidently there is some special clause related to creating spoofs in Copyright Documentation. I haven't read it myself, but I've only read about 60% of the document - skipping things not related to my field.

Nobody dares to mess with South Park, as the series would crucify anybody who did. Like Chef :)

cheff did not mess with them, nor did they crusify them. It turned out he did not mind the show at all, the statement of him quitting was made by a loony scientologist firend or companion of some kind.

satire is fair use. That means you can satire anyone, anytime, and get away with it, as their IP isn't violated.

So making fun is perfectly legal.

Yes but most satire doesn't actually use the actual names and or exact looks, it just makes their story look smiliar enough to the original so people know which movie or series it's satiring. But tell me do you know if this is possible with games. Could I make a mgs satire, and really use solid snake and raiden and actually charge money for it. There has to be some law against that.

Becuase you can't really sue a chicken :/

Quoted for the truth. Also I agree with Redneck. How can you possibly take a show seriously that has this message at the beginning of the show:
This show should not be viewed by anyone.
