Hey guys, I was wondering how much my speeding ticket will be. I got busted going 56 in a 30mph zone. You guys have any guesses as to how much I am going to have to pay?

If you're in the US, probably around $200 some dollars but if not, I wouldn't know.

it varies from county to county... you'll find out soon enough. you're lucky though... another 4 mph and they could've arrested you.

 My advice, postpone your court dates as far back as possible(with reasonable excuses). Maybe the cop won't show up... then you can just BS your way out. If he's there, you can just use memory lapse techniques! **** with his mind man!

It won't be the fine that bites you, but the insurance rates for you.

Yeah, if you actually told us where your from, we might actually be able to inform you of the laww in your country

Anyway, what the hell were you doing 56 in a 30 for? Not sure if you know this, but the speed limit is set to 30 in built up areas, because people are not good at not walking in front of cars. At 56 mph, you won't even get down to 30 before you hit them, let alone stop.
What is really pissing me off is that that speed limit is there to keep me safe, by preventing you from going at dangerous speeds. So every time you speed, you are risking my life just to get somewhere quicker. Who the **** are you to choose to risk my life???

Heres a few facts from the UK for you.
1,200 people died and 20,000 people were seriously injured by people like you ignoring the limit.
At 30 miles an hour, if you hit a pedestrian, 9 out of 20 will die.
At 40 miles an hour, if you hit a pedestrian, 17 out of 20 will die. Thats 1 less than double and you were 16 miles an hour faster than that anyway.
At 30 MPH, including thinking time, it would take approx 6 cars lengths to stop.
At 56 MPH, including thinking time, it would take over 13 car lengths to stop. That means that at the point where you would have stopped had you been obeying the limit, you will still be going faster than it if you are doing 56.

Think about these things when you drive please, it could be me those stats apply to next time.

Yeah, it's not like speeding tickets are given for any reason or anything.

Idiot.
