well would you pay .....

wait for it......

http://www.sainsburysentertainyou.co.uk/mall/sainsburys/main.cfm?productid=10009469 ROFLMAO £55.99!!!!!!! from Sainsburys robbing bar stewards.

I though it maybe a little fun competition while we wait for *whispers* that release date :E

Find the most expensive place you can online to buy HL2 :D cause tbh i'm as sick as you guys of all the "I heard it from an EB shop assistant" type threads :)

beat £55.99 if you can :p thats about $90 for all you USA people on here :D

BLOODY HELLFIRE.

And they seem to announce it in a "It's cheap" kinda way.

Holy...... thats insane! But then again....it might be worth it...i hope thats not the reatail price or im gunna go insane!

damn... that's REALLY a lot of money for a video game...
i could live 1 month for that amount of money.

I will pay max 60 euros for it. That's the same amount I dished out for BF1942 on the day of its' release :)

I'll pay nothing but the standard price. If you let morons rip you off, then you're a moron too.

Lol, they must have mixed up the price between Half-Life 2 and Windows XP or something. :cheese:

Yeah, $AUS 90 is what it will be priced at, as every other game that ever was made was priced.

Anyone who goes more than this is a fool.

As a matter of interest cheapest I have found generally online for UK retailers has been £24.99 including P&P damn cheek of Sainsburys you could buy it twice for what they wanna charge for one :E hehehe

In Belgium the standard price at release day is around 45€ (1€~=1$US). I've seen games that cost 50€ on their day of release, such as UT2K3,SplinterCell(bough that there on day1),BF1942,etc. So the really really popular/hyped games are a bit mor expensive. The prices there drop to 45€ soon after release though. The most I'm going to pay for HL2 is 100€. It's just worth it. My brother's copy we'll buy afterwards, so we can play on LAN (no more cd-key exchanging with Steam I expect...)

G0rgon, im with you on the price not more then 40 £uros.

In American Dollars, I would pay $55 (RCTW was 55 when it came out, so not a wierd number) for a basic game, $80 for a special edition (which I heard there was going to be).

I hope they release the DVD edition at 30th sept. so I don't have to wait for that or get like 3 cd's when I install.. I hate it when I have to switch cd's :-\

yea, I hope the DVD version is eleased right away too, but I guess that means I'm going to have to buy a new one right away - my 4 year old Toshiba 6x died on me - the drive either wouldn't shut or it wouldn't let the door open, damn mechanism gave out

I probably won't pay more than $50 unless it's a little more for the collector's edition. If I end up not finding the collector's edition upon release, then oh well, I really just want the game.
