How not to fire a gun ...

Has anyone ever fired a magnum? Are they really that powerful and hard to handle?

We can still bludgeon the robots to death!

Oh wait, they're metal...

We're boned.

Kick back can bruise your wrist if your not stong enough/not expecting it.

Stern, why do you hate guns so much?
Its only the stupids who shouldn't get guns, not the people who go through training and have licenses.

Guns scare the poop out of me, especially hand guns, but I admit, I still think they are awesome and I enjoy firing them. Yeah, go ahead, tell me what a damn American hick I am

Lol, I've seen a guy shoot himself in the leg before. I didn't actually see him shoot it, but i did see the blood squirting out, like a water bottle with a hole on the bottom. He just missed his arterie.

fired a .357 magnum several times

I guess it could go all wrong if you're not expecting the kick but those people are just noobs

Stern, I think you'll like my collection :D

He hit the metal plate, it flew back at a shallow angle, impacted the ground in front of him and richocheted into his ear protection...

Then did a backflip and landed.

And then I [verb]ed [personal pronoun] [noun] so [adjective] it [verb]!

And then Bad Hat got all angry like "Hey, I am just one of those cool angry guys on the internet" and then KA was all like I am going to confuse you but then you will realize it is a clever joke contributing to the chain.

And then KA will get all faux angry at ZT, and ZT will say that KA is a mean guy, mean as heck, but deep down he will know that KA is just kidding, and then they'll reconcile their differences and walk off towards the now setting sun, and then the screen will fade to black, and just before the image is gone, ZT and KA will hold hands.

And then John was a zombie.

..no. I've got a .357mag and it's nothing to get excited about. I don't even shoot it, except for the rare occasion I go shooting with a 'new' person who just wants to shoot it. In terms of cost efficiency I really only shoot my .22's. There's no point in shooting anything larger...all bullets knock a can over, just some do it louder than others. (obviously I'm not talking about hunting or professional shooting events or seal sniper training, etc...)

I just think it's funny all my friends bought .45's and 9's trying to be cool, and now I'm the one shooting 10x as much because my bullets are $0.02 a piece and there bullets cost like $0.30.

I was pretty much thinking this, but of course, it seems like something with more kick, depending on what you shoot, blows stuff into pieces instead of just putting a hole into it.

However, when I do get a gun at some point in my life, even if it's cost efficient, I'd like something that looks purty.
I've always liked how revolvers and lugers look. Lugers seem like they would be cost efficient, but I could be wrong. It's actually the only hand gun that I've fired.

Yea, some bullets can blow some things up. Personally, I have a stock pile of glass beer bottles, and I shoot out in the country by a lake; so I fill the bottles up with water and when I hit them (even with my .22) they explode, big time. But shooting shouldn't really be about watching stuff explode...I mean, you can just go buy some fireworks and do that.

Just go to a gun shop and hold some stuff, see what feels nice...here's a brief show of some of the popular .22's:

If I ever buy a gun, it'll be an M1911, they're just so god damned sexy.

I wont buy a gun unless I have enough land. I just don't see the need for a tool that doesn't give second chances that I really wont need to use. So it really depends how/where I am living when I get older.

To be fair to the people in the video, all the dudes in white robes are actually trying to fire an enormously powerful rifle.

I wouldnt buy it to shoot it, I wouldnt even buy bullets. I'd buy it just as a collectors item.

I like this one too, while not stupid it is scary as hell:

Yeah, certainly not a situation of stupidity, since all firearms users can fall victim to ricochets that come back exactly along the path they were fired from. Police officers have been killed this way before and I wouldn't chalk a ricochet event up to stupidity unless you're calmly firing at a material that will greatly increase that ricochet chance.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken those guys in the robes in the firing studio were intended to be blown back by the recoil as a prank. I remember seeing that in a video in the past.

Anyways, only guns I will ever need are airsoft guns.
