This thread is for anyone who took part in the Logo competition and wants to know how we're going.

We have changed band name to 4Down. We're now in the process of recording a Demo Ep. On the Ep we have 4 Songs, Folding Chairs, 4Down Vs Ninja Robot Invasion, Forgotten Generation and Werewolf Boy Vs Invisible Silver Bullet. Our Genre is Punk/Rock with Hints of Ska and Drum and Bass.

Once we have finished recording the Demo were going to a Studio to Record, we're currently got Two Producers who are willing to help us.

We should start gigging the Start of Next and have a few dates round the UK thanks to the help of People.

Even though were now not using the Logo that was made for us I am still sending the winner a copy of Ep2.

This Thread was for anyone interested btw.

I never got round to posting this. Thanks to Shippi for the picture.

sorry to rain on your parade....

"4Down Vs Ninja Robot Invasion" - This alone is a valid reason to buy your album.

Where do you pull these criticisms from? This is the second time today I've seen you blurt something out about someones band which hasn't even been mentioned before hand. Have you heard them? How do you know all they want to do is ''make it''? The guy said they were recorded a EP and that the band was doing okay. :| Geez. You did it in the Band Name Thread-thingy aswell. Get a grip.

thnks to everyones comments so far, Here is our logo we're just keeping it basic

I just think that a band shouldn't worry about names and logos and shirts and shit unless all they're concerned about is marketing and money - worry about playing gigs and making good music first.
And, sure, you can say that a band must be marketable to be successful - and thats true in the shitty pop-laden world of today. But if a band is making music so they can be "marketed" to a specific audience and such, then they're kind of missing a point. Sure, I'm going out on a limb here and maybe taking this to far - but I just think that as long as the musics good, your name and logo and crap isn't such a big issue.

Just like how valve doesn't just base the creation of its games on graphics - the core of it is gameplay, if its fun to play, just like music should be good to listen to, the marketable presentation to that is secondary.....

whatever, I'm just going to get flamed as usual, why bother with explanation.

go back to your logos and names.....

I understand what you mean, Hungryduck. They get all excited about stuff like logos and names and websites and which bands they want to be like, and by the time they come to the music they just can't come up with the goods. I've known loads of people try to set up a band when the last thing they're thinking about is the music. But I think we should at least wait until we've heard some of their stuff before we judge. They might be great.

Yeah, the next 'The Veronicas'
Just kidding, it sounds pretty cool. Congratulations. Remember, though, to have a double kick before the first snare for a d'n'b breakbeat.

I agree, I'm not trying to judge them......

yet :)

I just hope they're not in it for the fame and "we wanna be rock-stars" theme.

Yeah, I totally agree, but lets look at this logically; this is one bloke from this 4down band, who is asking in his spare time for someone to come up with a logo. That's right there in the question, ain't it? Heck, it's not even the band themselves doing it, it's someone else, which means they can put more time into, as you said, organising gigs. But going back to logically, organising a gig and releasing a song isn't something that takes up every minute of every hour. Trust me, I've been there. Just something to do in the spare time, y'know? Get one thing out the way whilst you can; that's my logic in school - I do all my homework in my free periods, so I can come home and.. well, do nothing. :)
