How the hell do I beat the Far cry level "dam"?

i fall, get my 10 m4 shots and kill the small trigen, i fall down the waterfall. Now how in the flying monkey asses of fire do i get past all the trigens with no ammo? i run as fast as i can down the river and always get cut down from behind from a trigen and I have nothing to fight back with. And the geniouses decided not to include any cheats. So even if I wanted to cheap out to get through it, I CAN'T! For those who have beaten the game, how do I get past this area, and don't just say "run" cuz all the walkthroughs say that and it doesn't work.

Sprint whenever a Trigen is coming towards you. Nearer to the helicopter area there are several weapons guarded by Trigen, one near the river and one in the jungle. Grab these and shoot away at the (peeved off) Trigen that's behind you. My preferance is to go for the weapon in the jungle, it's guarded by one Big Trigen minus the rocket launcher, and it moves slow, so keep your distance and shoot. Run like hell to the downed helicopter because all those Trigen heard those gunshots ......

After my 20th time of dying on that level I finally decided to go look at a walkthrough.

Basically, stay under water as much as you can. Another good thing to note is that if you can lure any of the trigens (big or small) into deep water they will drown.

So ya, run as fast as you can and stay in the water. Then get to the helicopter and mow 'em all down.

No no no no...I've got a much easier solution! You dump into the water, go onto shore and get spotted then RUN back to the water and dive into the water. Sometimes the monsters will try and follow you into the water, but those damn creatures can't swim so they die! If they don't go into the water, then go on shore on the other side... then they'll probably follow you!

Another good thing to note is that if you can lure any of the trigens (big or small) into deep water they will drown.

Thats the best thing to do and when you've killed a few of the larger ones make a dash for the downed chopper. I found the best route to take is to follow the river until you see the chopper on the right as its the easiest route.

Pwn immediately trigen you see. Pretend you be superman and fly off cliff into water. Predator style water sneakage can now commence. Cover self in mud to prevent trigen from recognizing you, this does nothing they still know. Swim through water, get in crashed helicopter and pornorize incoming trigen monsters with machine gunnation.

Best weapon for close-range: Jackhammer Shotgun
Best weapon for mid-range: AG36 Assault Rifle
Best weapon for long-range: AW50 Sniper Rifle

Best combo of 4 weapons: Jackhammer Shotgun, AG36 Assault Rifle, AW50 Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher

Why? I've got all the bases covered with that 4 weapon combo. Zee best!

I've beaten the game several times, and this was the least troubling part for me, oddly. I just grabbed the gun, sprinted around the little monkey dude, jumped in to the water, swam through the deep parts, ran along the shallow parts, used the bullets for a headshot on one of the armed trigens, and grabbed his gun, and made a dash for the copter.
Worked every time.

I just meant, what did you think of the OICW, cause I liked it more than the AG36, cause it was more stable when in auto mode and it had far better grenades.

what you should do is take the far cry game cd, break it in half, install HL1, and play through it until HL2 is out.

seriously, far cry was one of the most disappointing games i have ever played.
