Hi there,

I'm trying to change the walk animation of the hl2 human models.

Does anybody knows how to do it?

Thanks for any help

Decompile the orignal model. Import the animation .smd into max, reanimate (it will be a total pain in the arse to do without re-rigging/weighting) export to new smd named the same as the origanal. Recompile.

I've done it and changed the animation walkN.smd

But when i recompile it the legs are crossed and the torso is twisted.

Can anyone help me on this?

I'm using the .qc created when you extract and decompile male_shared.mdl

Thanks for any help

I am not all sure about this, I haven' tried it yet myself, but notice that sourcesdk_content\hl2\modelsrc\humans_sdk\Male_Animations_sdk has pretty much all the basic animations. You could compile them as the male_shared.mdl and add your own animation to the list. Including male_shared_XSI_sdk from the same folder into the .qc should do the trick. This way you could share the animation for all the male human models.

But like I said, I haven't tried it myself, and I don't know if the folder really has all the animations for male_shared.mdl or if it would even work that simple.
