I think this is related to CS:Source only, but seeing as I have seen so many people on servers asking how to get the console up I thought I would explain...

1. Open Steam >> Play Games >> Counterstrike Source
2. Options >> Keyboard tab >> Advanced
3. Tick 'Enable Developer Console (~)

Thanks for that :)

You just wanted to get the first post though, didn't ya? :p

Also, if you lost the console after one of the latest patchs, here's how to fix it:

0. Start Steam (...)
1. Press the "Play Games" button.
2. Right-click on the CS:S icon.
3. Choose "properties" & then "launch options".
4. In the menu that pops up, add "-console" (without "").
5. Load CS:S & the console will appear.
6. Now here's the annoying part. If you press the X at the top of the console, it'll disappear until you restart CS:S. So... DON'T :)
7. Now you have to rebind the console to a new button since (for Europeans) the "Ö" button doesn't work anymore. The former console button that goes by the name "tilde" (left of your "1" key) doesn't work either. So you have to rebind it to somewhere else. I put it on F3 & it works fine now. Don't know if anything will happen when they "fix" the tilde key in the next patch (if they ever will).
8. So what should you type to bind a key you say? Well that's easy. Just type *bind F3 (or your button of choice) "toggleconsole"* (without the **). Oh the irony :E

Problem solved. Might require a reboot of CS:S but I doubt it. PM me if you want to send me money :p
