Wrong.
Here's how you do it.
Find a laggy, 64 man server.
Spawn in, select knife.
Run from base to base, sprinting directly at any enemies on foot, or zig-zag, and stick them with your blade.
After seven kills, you have received the Basic Knife Combat Badge.
While playing with some friends on TS last night, we all joined what seemed to be a fine 64 man server on Gulf of Oman. At first it was pretty playable, but eventually it became pretty bad and laggy, so my friend thought, hey, why the hell not go on a knife rampage.
