How to make the bink videos run less choppy

I find if you download the RAD Video Tools then load one of the bink files via that, then hit Advanced and change Blitting style to

DirectDraw to primary surface (best quality, very fast)

it gives great results
 
YUY2 off-screen worked the best for me with a gef2 mx400 & celeron 1ghz.

EDIT: Direct draw to primary surface was very choppy.

AFAIK it depends on the hardware, so it's gonna be a case of trial and error for the OP to find something that works well enough for his/her system

i had a 700mhz, tnt2 card and on direct draw, or the fastest one listed in the advanced menu worked great for me, it was totally smooth, and my bro had a geforce 2 mx and it worked fine on his too. It mgiht be that u need to update ur drivers or u possible got too many systems running or even a virus using all ur pc memorary, but then again did u say u had a celeron?!
 
Thanks for the help guys. The picture is smooth, but the sound is still really choppy.
