***how To Play Offline***

Ok Guys

There are soo many posts now saying "I can't play offline mode"

Now this is how you do it, and it works perfectly, and it is they way it was ment to work, it is just not explaned properly.

Ok...

1: Connect to the internet

2: Boot up your PC

3: Steam will auto load (this takes about 1 minute)

4: SO now steam will be connected Online

5: Now just simple right click on the steam icon tray and sellect Exit

6: Disconect from the internet

7: Now reload steam from your desktop icon, or launch Half life, and it WILL connect offline. YOU will never need an internet connection again!!

8: Ive had all the problems everyone else has had so beleve me when i tell you this works...

Well guess what it doesnt work because the game "isnt fully acquired" it says 56% and takes 3.5Gb on HDD.

how do you play offline if you have broadband?because when i exit steam it loads up when i click to play hl2 and says preparing to play

I have'nt got broadband, but if you have a firewall, which i imagine you have. You can set it so that Steam cannot access the net. You can then release steam if you want to play online.
