Yeah, stupid question, what is the command line you have to put in the hl2.exe shortcut so you don't get those animated menus?
Because it seems the anticitizen one won't work, i just get the blurry picture and then... nothing. Anyone has the same problem?

It'll open up the console everytime you start, and all you have to do is close that.

Oh, thanks, i'll try it, but wasn't there something like -no menu or something?

Right click half-life2 in steam window >> properties >> launch options >> -novideo

Now half-life2 will not load animated menus.

-novideo only gets rid of the movie with the Valve music.

the command you're looking for is +map_background none
