All highest. I have a 9800 non-pro and i have everything on highest in Far Cry, and Far Cry is much more demanding than Half-Life 2 ever will be.

DarkDamo, it will run just fine. If you really want everything on highest, i suggest you upgrade your video card.

At the moment hl2 wont even run on my current pc, which is a:
AMD Athlon 900 mghz
384 mb ram
Geforce 4 mx440

My new pc that has to come soon ( i hope ! ) is a:
AMD Athlon64 3200+
1024 mb ram
Ati Radeon 9800pro

With that pc im sure i can run HL2 with max details at 1024x768.

I am getting an avarenge of 40 fps on res 1600x1200 on highest settings in half-life 2. But in th stresstest I get an avarenge of 58.

DarkDamo, you have a better pc than me in terms of ghz (i have an athlon 2600) and cs:s runs at around 68-70 fps on 1024, highest detail, x4 AA. you should have no worries im sure.

strange how I had Far Cry on medium... Would that mean I can have it on high for HL2 if you say yes I sincerely doubt it (see signature for Hardware)

So it won't work, It was the Far Cry demo. Ran on medium fine...

I might check the minimum requirements for HL2 there might be a chance :|

ignore darkdamo lol, ull be able to run it. play it on medium settings and u should be more than fine. or, you could play high settings on 800x600. looks and image quality dont make a game, they're just a 'upperclass bonus' if you can get eye bleeding graphics.

gameplay, story line and things like physics are what makes a game.
