I was just wondering what I can expect from Half-Life 2 with this system and Valve If you could answer that would be MUCH appreciated.

1. AMD Athlon 650MHZ (Overclocked to 741MHZ)
2. Geforce FX 5200
3. Sound Blaster Audigy 1 Platinum
4. 320MB Of SDRAM
5. 20 Gig Hard Drive (Western Digital 5400 RPM)
6. 40/12/48 Speed Sony CDRW
7. Buslink DVD Rom (16x DVD)
8. Windows 98 SE
9. IBM G42 Monitor (1024 By 768 Max Resolution)
10. Direct X 9.0a

If anyone knows please give me a detailed answer. Also will half-Life 2 Look as good as it does in the E3 Presentation Video with my video card?

New Games I recently Played:

Star Trek Elite Force 2 - Works Perfect On Highest Settings (1024 By 768 Resolution)

Chaser - Works Perfect On Highest Settings (1024 By 768 Resolution)

Thanks For Your Help In Advance.

Processer is too low, everything else looks decent. You can get a Athlon 2600 for about $110 now.

Oh I remeber these questions. If valve reply on this forum then you get a cookie.

well it should be a 700mhz to get it started if im right..? but i think the graphic card realy helps the game running smoother. i dont think you will be able to run at highest detail and all that, but i dont think you will have any very big problems...if im right..am i?

The thing is, the graphics card is bottlenecked by the very poor components. I seriously doubt you will be able to enjoy Half-Life 2, with today's prices you can get a new MOBO, a nice processor and some RAM for 250-300$, and I guarantee you it will pay off in the long run.

oh, please stop asking, if your comp will manage hl2. read the FAQ or just wait and see, PLEASE!

Keep the graphics card. I'd buy a new computer.. If that says enough.

No. Your CPU is way too slow, and you have too little system memory. Your hard drive could also stand to be faster.

It WILL play the game, just not on the high detail level you saw at e3: the GPU might be able to handle things at a lower res, but whatever the CPU does will have to be very scaled back from what they showed at e3. In other words: the CPU and system memory are what are going to hold you back: the vid card is decent.
