Actually, most stores keep that information on file and all you need to do is present an ID proving you are who you say you are. At least that's how my local EB works. Still, I'm a paranoid bugger who religiously hangs on to the receipts "just in case".

I'm buying from the store becuase I like the box and the stuff inside it. You get all the stuff that you would have if you baught it from steam, plus whatever memoribilia (SP?) that is included in the box.

Especially with the collectors edition box I plan on getting if there is one.

i would never pirate HL2.

HL1 was my first computer game after playing solitaire on a 486 until 98 when i got a new comp.

i still play it till today, thats 5 years of entertainment for 30 bucks


also the whole CD key thing, multiplayer is the best part.
