The question has been asked on what would you do if HL2.net closed down, but what if something much worst happened. What if Valve closed down basically leaving us with no futures Half-Life's (that includes Ep 3) no TF2 updates, even no L4D or steam (it would shut down completely). I know it's highly unlikely but what would you do.

I would say.. "damn that sucks.." and then continue to enjoy current Valve games and go on with my life. :p

I would quit my current job and start a new company called Valve 2 and hire as many of the ex-valve employees as I could.

Fundraise to purchase the Valve IP :p

[edit]Help Krynn72 with financing that project

/assigns himself as Valve 2 CEO.

:D

No Valve means no Steam, meaning that all Valve MP would shut down until cracked MP servers could be set up, which would be very vunerable to cheaters.

Unless steam was structurally separated from the company, which should happen eventually.

I wouldn't mind, they've become too commercial.

Steam would be bought out by EA, ex-Valve employees would start their own company and begin to make great games.

If that didn't happen, there's always Diablo 3.

I know this what would probably happen, but in my scenario no more valve games nothing even related to them.

i would be like 'ohh no, ohh well i better go get myself a life now' :(

Well Gabe and some others must retire one day. If Valve got some new guys and turned out they would merge with EA, etc. That could be the end of Valve ya know.

I would slit the wrists and throats of everyone I know, ultimately finishing off my massacre by spilling my own blood.

i would ;(

wouldn't care, only thing that would bother me is no more tf2 updates. I've pretty much given up on half life, they stuffed it up since making episode 1 imo.

Redirect money from the Gabe pizza fund to bail them out.

Now all we need is some money for the Gabe pizza fund.

Homeless or suicide?

A sad day that would be

First i'd go FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Then i'd go
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO darth vader style
Then i'd start sobbing and go into a deep mourning depression

I'd be at a loss as to what games I'd play to fill the void Valve's closure would create.

Umm... Care to say why?

It's pretty obvious, a more developed plot, more emotional attachment to characters, more dynamic story, better AI, better graphics, more open environments, and more interesting and challenging enemies.

You know, the stuff we hate.

Oh, right, yeah. What absolute toss-pots.

I could never cope, to be honest. I'd help with Krynn's plan.

Actually I'd hunt each and every one of you down and drink your blood, so there's no evidence of this place ever existing.

well valve is the last company I have faith in. so... yeah. Things wouldn't look too good D:

I'd cope, after I laugh at Garry for a bit.

Nah, it's because I can't be bothered with these 4 hour games release every 2 years. I'd prefer a longer game. but like I said, that's my opinion.

Not considering the emotions of the people who work for Valve, it would be fine for me personally.

Man..you guys aren't getting it. I'm going to kill. all. of. you.

The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny would commence.

It'd suck because Valve makes the best games out there, but life goes on.

It would be sad, but we would always have their older games to play. Like HL1 and HL2, they will always be the games we played and loved. I mean hell, if I live to be 90 something years old I might still be playing hl1 because it's like the best game ever made. Eventually I think valve is going to sell out to EA and that will be the end of them. Especially with this recession bullshit going on. And steam would likely would change hands as well.

Meh, HL1/2 get old, I can only really replay them once every couple of years now. I'd be really disappointed if Valve went under before we got to experience Half-Life 3, since I'm convinced it'll be just as much of a step forward as HL2 was. For that matter, I'm still extremely curious to see what they can do outside of the Half-Life universe... as long as it isn't an MMO.

4-5 years ago I would've been devastated, now I'd just shrug it off in a day.

edit: Hl2 is not even working on my Pc anymore, it always crashes at the opening credits. ****ing stupid really, but I can't even be arsed to try and fix it anymore. I think I'll just move on to consoles, they're so much easier than these goddamed stupid moter****ing piece of shit computahs. I have spoken.
