Rights of the Working man FTW

Ya, but only so far as it doesnt infringe upon the rights of everybody else, or negatively effect the lives of the majority.

Ah but what about their rights to be able to choose when to, and when not to work.

The left/right political scale is out dated and complete rubbish

I think the idea 'do what you like until it infringes on the rights of others' is a good one.

Yeah, I think that's what authoritarianism/libertarianism is.

It co-exists with left-wing and right-wing, but as a totally different political axis.

Hold on a minute, wasnt Hobbes the guy who wrote The Leviathan (arguing for a dictatorship)? Bear in mind I havent read it yet, so I'm probably wrong.

Also, I like what the Liberal Democrats have to say on many things, especially 'an opposition to unaccountable power', be it right-wing (corporations) or left-wing (unions).
1. Probably. I guess that's where our agreement ends. :p
2. I seem to remember reading through a list of Lib Dem policies in an AS Politics textbook and realising I generally agreed with everything.

Your poll choices are stupid because you put issues that aren't always related to each one and you put parties next to them when they don't represent that group.

"Die hard republican" for right-wing is completely wrong- the republican party lately has been overspending so much and infuriating the right wing. Next time don't try to influence the poll results by putting unfavorable quotes next to the choices. Also I don't see why you have "gun nut" (derrogatory) next to NAZI. FFS.

edit: WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE LIBERTARIAN UNDER THE LEFTISTS SECTION? WTF? You can't be for a free economy and call yourself any sort of equal in the LEAST with a SOCIALIST.

edit2: Voted moderately right wing.

I consider myself a moderately right wing kind of person. I believe welfare should be given to a guy down on his luck but not on a leech. I have no problems with gays but I think gay marriage should be a concern of only the church and not the government. Patriotism ftw.

Our most notable right wing crazies were Nat Turner and Bodacious
If Nat Turner was right wing, Stern must be an archconservative! :O

The political spectrum is not a line, people. Libertarian is essentially extremely socially liberal, and fiscally conservative. It all depends on how you see things

Anyway, I don't really fit. It's hard to describe me politically... but I know one thing. As a person, I am the original definition of 'liberal'- the German word for 'open-minded'. I will ALWAYS consider other points of view, I always listen to others, and I never close off possibilities. Of course, that's not to say that I BELIEVE everything- for example, I've thought about Scientology a good bit, and come to the conclusion that it's bullshit. There's a difference between openmindedness and naivete :p

Considering everything else he posted next to choices dealt with economics, libertarian should be up on the right wing side then.
