How you turn an iPod off?

I just turned my on and I don't know how to switch it off.

Press and hold the play button (bottom of the clickwheel).

ok thanks. For a moment I thought the clickwheel lock thing was the power button and i was pressing it in vain for a minute.

The same way that you turn off all apple products .... Throw it at a wall, or drop it from a great height.

... or hit it with a hammer and stick it in the freezer

also use the hold switch, so that it stays off.
