Has anyone been following the HP Touchpad debacle this past weekend? Well if you haven't heard HP put the whole liquidation rollout on the Touchpad which is really new in terms of tech releases. The product went from roughly $450 to $99 overnight once they announced a discontinuation of the device both the 16GB and 32GB versions. Firstly on Friday night they announced the liquidation, early Saturday most online retailers who sold the unit dropped it to $99 and Sunday many Best Buys and Electronic Retailers sold the last remaining units as well. If you were a recent HP Touchpad buyer, HP would refund you the remaining dollar amount from lets say $450 so you'd get $350 back. Anyway I just found some online really cheap ($150) considering its a dead platform and all other places sold out immediately plus people were standing in overnight lines for a slight chance to even get some of them on sale. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056UOUHS click the link but they may be sold out by now, anyway you can follow the news here too if your still interested.

Anyway let the discussion begin on Tablets and how do you think this will affect other companies strategies in the coming weeks
edit: found the 16GB version online for $100! http://www.amazon.com/Smartbuy-TouchPad-QUALCOMM-Snapdragon-Wireless/dp/B0056UOUC8/ref=lh_ni_t
