HUD question

Hey all,

I just got Half-Life 2 for Christmas. I got it installed and loaded fine. no hassles at all. I was impressed. However, when I went to play, there was no heads up display. I went into keyboard options to find out what the toggle for it was, but they don't list one. I'm shocked!! IS there a HUD, and if so, how the heck do you get to it? If anyone could give me a hand with this, I sure would appreciate it.

I believe there is no HUD for the first few beginning chapters, at least until you get the HEV suit. Just keep playing, nothing to worry about.

Yes, you need to get into your good old HEV suit for the HUD to display.

The HUD consists of 4 dots until you get to the second chapter.

Aye. First 2 chapters= No HUD. Also, it is technically impossible to die unless you fall off a building in the beginning.

Not really, I got pummeled by some Combine guys carrying stun batons early on and allowed them to keep pummeling me since I believed to be immortal...until I died

Anyways, in case you need more clarification: You have no HUD when the game starts but it develops as you progress in the game.
