It happened over 500 miles from Tokyo. I doubt it even affected them. It is a bad time to visit Japan though, as there have been a couple earthquakes there this last week...

Yes. Tidal surges. It generated a 7 foot high one off the coast, but that'll get a lot bigger as it fans out. BTW, the page has been updated since I first read it...
