Huge Pain In The Ass Problem

this is really starting to piss me off. i join a server, and i cant click anything. the game freezes on the servers start up screen. and whatever sound was going on on the server keeps repeating in a stuttering manner. every minute or so it flows for a few seconds then stutters and freezes again. any idea wtf is wrong?

Same thing happens to me. Even against bots.

Immediate solution -> I just stopped playing. When i could be ****ed playing again i'll figure the problem out...by then it'll probably have solved itself.

Shinra I had the same problem, fixed it with a dos scandisk.

and i think this same problem is causing my huge problem. i noticed when i go to task manager while cs is stuttering like this im apparently using more memory than i have (which is 1gb) and i know on a normal application that isnt possible.

Using more memory than you have, eh?
Try increaseing the size of your page file and turning down some settings in css (particularly texture quality). If you have all graphical settings on the lowest possilbe and you still get this problem, your f**cked.

What are you system specifications?
To find these, go to : Start-->Execute (Or something like that, I don't have an english version of Windows) and type DxDiag. Wait for the page to load and then give us the information shown under the "System" Tab (Default tab). Also give the name of you graphic card (Can be found under Screen/Graphical/Something like that -Tab.)

Actually, I didn't fix it. I tried CS:S right after my previous post and it happened again. But the problem wasn't the same as yours, all my games froze and had that stuttering problem, I had to reformat.

audigy 2 zs (i get some weird sound screeches every now and then too)
