For some reason I don't think a rebel is driving it?

I don't think anyone is driving it, must be automatic. I guess if the combine trains are, there's no reason why 'normal' trains couldn't have been modified to.

Yeah it's automated. I think that's what Alyx was doing, getting it going and setting co-ordinates, etc.

Um... on trains you just hit the 'Go' button... there are only two directions a train can go. Up the tracks, and down the tracks.
