Wow, gonna be a whopper, Category 5, fourth lowest low-pressure system ever in the atlantic, and it's heading for New Orleans.

Here's a live TV stream thingy: Clicky

Weather.com: clicky

I remember when the last hurricane hit down there, we got some serious rain and wind here in Kansas. I can only imagine what this will bring. We've had over 9 inches of rain in August.

I've been watching it on tv
:| Poor people, maybe god will be nice and it'll just dissapear....

Sinners? Hell, he was pissed because he never had a chance to throw some beads!

or receive beads...
He doesn't have a big enough rack for that..so he gave up recieving, and tried throwing. Girls shriek in terorr of his Picaso Face.

The storm track shows it's going to get very close to where I live, as a Tropical Storm. :(
I live near Louisville, KY.

This site is pretty much real time. The radar images are the most recent. It seems to be making landfall.

The eye is still aways offshore. Only then will we know what will happen to New Orleans.

Hope it goes okay... poor saps. :( Move to MN, our state motto should be "The Safest State".

Part of the superdome roof blew off. There are thousands of people in there looking for refuge.

Idiots should have left the city. Even if they had to walk. There are certain situations where you don't just wait it out.

Yeah "A large part" of the roof is off.

EDIT: Make that half the roof

Oh boy...

Let's place bets on the number of dead...no wait, let's not. :x

Aren't there like 10,000 people inside the Superdome right now? :(

Sometimes you have to listen to Bush. He's not always wrong.

The official number is 9,000.

It's estimated that there are 96,000 people total in New Orleans. These are the idiots that ignored the order to evacuate.
I've heard that it's possible that the many gas tanks could break, and coat the surface of the water with a layer of gas. If ignited, all of New Orleans could, theoretically, be in flames.

The people in the stadium are the poor, homeless, and elderly who couldn't evacuate. Whether by walking or by driving.

Yes, the superdome people are the ones that I do have pity for.

But I find it hard to believe that there was absolutely no way 96,000 people couldn't leave the city. Could these folk possibly not have ANY friends that would give them a ride out?

That made me LOL.
