the bink video with the blue tenticle (hyrda) is this still in teh game? my mate completed it and said he never saw it, anyone got screens of it please thanks.

discussed too many times now, but ill be nice...they took the hydra out the game. Thats why he didnt see it. Things changed from the binks.

According to the Collector's book (which I'm going to sell. Any buyers?) they had the hydra working perfectly, with a really advanced AI that would kill people and swing their dead corpes around. It was a blast to watch, but no fun to actually fight it. They writer said that the player would see a blur move, and they would be dead.

I'm expecting it in Half-Life 3.

Someone @ hl2 world has got the leak scripts and models for it - hes got quite far in making it work again.

I think a good solution could have been to make the hydra a friendly entity. Maybe that's what they want to do for HL3... the little book with the CE says that they're thinking about bringing it back with a control system a bit like that used for the antlions...
