I'm thinking about geting a pair of 512mb Kingston Hyper X modules for my HL2 system. My mobo is dual channel so whatever RAM setup I use, it's got to be two twin sticks. Does anyone run Hyper X RAM? If so, What's your opinion of it? Worth the price? I can get the 2X512mb DDR400/PC3200 for $240. Do y'all think I should go for it? What are everyone's opinions on Hyper X RAM?

I have 512mb of hyperX PC3500 in my AMD rig, it runs excellent. I havnt had any probs with it yet. Then again, i havnt OCed my AMD rig yet.

I persoanlyl like Kingston as a company better. No real reasons, but I just do. It's great RAM.

I have 2x512mb of hyperX pc2700 in a an Asus a7n8x deluxe motherboard and it runs great. $240 for the 3200s sounds good.

hyperx is great, but i like my corsair xms pc4000 :)

ya, i da hyper-X and they are poor overclockers, but it is possible... but when not O/Ced, it's absolutely great! GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!
i'm done now :p

Rootbin, im RMAing my corsair today for some mushkin lvl 2. The timings SUCK on XMS PC3700 and PC4000. The mushkin PC3500 does 2-2-2-5 timings, compared to 3-4-4-8.

I've been very pleased with it. I need to get one more stick so I can run dual channel but hell, even in single channel along with an 800mhz FSB it flies!

I also forgot to mention im running in single channel. I only have one stick of 512, but ill be getting another 512 for xmas.

Still runs great though.

I'm not really focused on how the ram performs when it's overclocked. I don't overclock my harware, so I don't worry about it.

I think I may have come across a problem. In my mobo's (Intel D875PBZ) manual it talks about Memory Module Requirements. It says "Support for: - Unbuffered, non registered single or double sided DIMMS
- Serial presence detect spd memory only
- support for suspend to ram, s3 acpi state
- ECC or non ecc ram memory
- 2.5 V memory

Then on the Hyper X data sheet (http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX3200AK2_1G.pdf) it says:
"Each 134-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +2.6V.... Power supply: VDD 2.6V +/- 0.2 V, Vddq: 2.6 +/- 0.2 V"

So does this mean I CANNOT run the hyper x ram?

Arrgg this is confusing. When I got into the motherboard configurator (http://www.valueram.com/) a select my set up (Intel, DDR 400 PC3200) it shows that the memory I want (KHX3200AK2/1G) will work? Sorry, I don't know a whole heck about hardware. I really appreciate all this feedback y'all are giving me.
