$10, used, and I had it on my hands for 5 minutes, but then when I reached the cash register I chickened out and bought only Episode One.

Is Ocarina of Time really that good?

If you've never played it before then yes...theres a reason its voted the best game ever by a lot of people.

It really is as good as people say it is. Gooooo buy it!

Go back and buy it now! $10 is a steal! Such an awesome game.

Depends if you have an N64 or not.

If you don't, I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Unless you have a really good controller, forget the emulator. Get the cartridge. You will not regret it.

and isn't it illegal to download a ROM anyway?
Yes.
But they say you are safe if you own the cartridge. This is not true for the most part as it is still illegal to make "backup copies", but you can take the risk ni the FBI swarming your pad, Hackers "The Phreak" style. (;

Not true. A court case a little while back ruled that it is NOT illegal to make backup copies of your games, despite what Nintendo prints on its packaging. So essentially, as long as you own a copy of the game (or say so) it's perfectly fine. And being as they're not going to background check everyone who dl's a ROM, I say, go for it.

Yes, ofcourse, in reality there is no real danger of being caught. I'm sure everyone here has many roms.
The trick is to never admit it. (;

What's a ROM?
It's those things the game is stored on inside the cartridge you bought. ;) :naughty:

I pirate almost all my games, but if i had an N64 and i saw OoT for 10 bucks, even I'd buy it

Doooo it!

Yeah, I was just arguing that you're allowed to copy your own. The rest is a bit blurry... but really, there's pretty much zero risk involved.

You can backup any data you so wish to as long as you own it. If you do not own it you must delete the data within 24 hours.

There is no such law. It's just as illegal no matter how long you have it if you don't have the original copy the backup was made from :p

It really is worth the ten bucks to just buy it..
The emulator takes away a lot of the fun

Ikerous I need to go to the mall tomorrow anyway, so chances are I'll end up paying the 10 bucks.

But what if I don't like the game?

I played a Zelda game on one of the old B&W Gameboys, and boy, it sucked.

If you check the other thread about OoT you'll find links to the rom :)

You sure I thought Clinton passed that law, I just remember Rom sites saying some stuff like that. I figured I may be wrong.

Its legal to have a ROM of a game you do not own for 24 hrs. But who gives a shit?

hey guys thanks a lot for the info.

I downloaded that ROM and the game played very good. The graphics even look better than those of my N64, but the game sucked big time; almost as bad as World of Warcraft.

25 minutes later the emulator was uninstalled and the ROM removed from my computer.

Thanks for saving me $10 guys :)

Wow, you only played for 25 mins? So you probably only just got into the Deku tree?

Heh... you're missing out.

Shame on you. Zelda OoT is the best game ever, did you even get to the deku tree?

Wow, if the game was almost as bad as World of Warcraft it must be one of THE BEST GAMES EVER!

I play my roms with a nice controller.

First of all, the fact that you are basing the game off of 25 minutes playing on an emulator is very sad. Emulators ruin gaming experiences, not to mention you really don't do anything in the first 25 minutes of the game. Prolly didn't even get inside the Deku Tree :|

It may be the type of thing where if you didn't play the game when it first came out it may not seem as great now, but to must of us the nostalgia factor alone makes it great to this day.

I may be wrong but you just sound pretty shallow to me.

Oh, and I highly recommend this game to anyone :D

Not liking OoT is like not liking Mario 64. :|

Are you an alien?

As I said, the graphics were excellent.
This is just not the type of game I like.

"collect coins so you can buy a new armor"

a bore

Give me Half Life (the first one) or GTA San Andreas any day.

I probably am, because I also dislike Mario 64.

Donkey Kong 64 is another game I hate.

It's not really a "collect coins and buy new armor" game... Apart from the first shield. You can probably go through the game without having to spend a single rupee after that i bet. You get most of your items from dungeons and completing quests...

Oh well. Your loss. :)
