Have any of you played the game (Evil Genius)? I am playing it right now and I am loving it!

I got to the second Island then I managed to screw myself up so much that I have restarted (I had like 5 military minions total, 1 henchman with 1 life and 2 Super Agents on the island, and like 4 Squads of Good Veterans, and no savegame worth looading).

This time I am playing on hard (instead of medium) Patched both with official and unofficial patch. Planning on researching a lot so I can get the base at island 2 like I want from the beginning.

I bought it, reallly liked it, but never played it so i gave it back. It's fun i just wasn't motivated to play it, plus i found some bits really annoying, like the way security cameras do NOTHING and the traps generally weren't that sucsessful.

What are you talking about? Security Cameras are a vital part of my security system, did you build a security desk (that you kept manned) and sufficient security loudspeakers?

yea, but i thought they would be able to trigger traps and lock doors and stuff. It would be cool if as soon as someone was spotted, they get locked in a little room and get gassed :D much more efficient than the pads or laser beams :P

Bah use camo turrets, and keep an eye around the island tagging all foes that show up.

I've finished the game, but I've only tried one ending.

The one where you launch the satelite into space, which beams everything on earth towards the moon.

Use motion detectors.

I keep saying every week I'll try a demo of this, heck I've even got a demo on some coverdisk now.. still haven't tried it. I suck.

I may be alone in this opinion, but I didn't like the demo. Sure, it was kind of fun, but I got the feeling of, "Why should I play this game if I could play Dungeon Keeper, Sim City, or Populous?"

Becouse its quite different, the demo dosent show this quite well, but among one things the trap system is way better then Dungeon Keepers from what I can remember. And you send minions on missions to steal stuff, find information and other things.

The game is pretty old now....did not try it though...

yeh i loved this game aswell, the construsion patterns got a bit annoying after, where u had to wait for the money and then the tnt and stuff

is it worth buying ? i watched a video interview with tim schaffer i think, and it sounded interesting.

Well I bought it at full price, and it was worth every Krona!

I got it when it came out and its to slow. Way boring.

Its not fast paced action. Its strategy, not fast paced but its still fun (unless it has to be fast paced for you) and it has it has some good humor as well (Watching the enemy agents getting interogated is just so funny).

Be warned that it requires a lot of patience.

The trap system is pretty nice, but the rest is mediocre. Lots of annoying little things that made me quit after a while. The entire world map part of the game was rather lame for one. And enemy agents suddenly going bonkers and shooting half your trap system to pieces with no apparent difficulty in 3.1 seconds.

At one point I did have a nice base, with a second dummy entrance with a bunch of traps behind that drew away a large part of the agents. The only way to advance was through that worldmap though, and I couldn't be bothered to suffer that when I had filled up my base (first island). By then the funny bits (interrogation etc) had gotten old as well.

Dungeon Keeper 2 was better, despite trap system of Evil Genius.
