I am loosing interest on Half-life2

the fact is

I dont know if HL2 will my run in my PC,and here in my country upgrade a PC is a lot expensive

I am a bit sad cuz from what I know many stuff where cut in the final game like some enemyes and stuff,buts that not a big point

but the worse is

if I could buy HL2 I will hav to buy a pirated version
why?
cuz here in my country originals games are a lot expensive and buy a original HL2 will be a huge spend that I cant do

anyway all the many games I played are pirated,never buyed a original game,but dont think I like to buy piracy,for example I could hav the change to touch and play originals games and was cool cuz they hav more that just the CD,like a manual and sutff,also the fact of updates trough steam and all that stuff,but unfortunately I cant buy original games

so for that reason I am loosing interest in HL2

HL2 is like something unreachable to me

maybe the only option will be to wait for the xbox version,but I dont know if its going to be a xbox version

so I make this thread as a favor to increase my interest in HL2 again like it was in the long wait before it was released

This is how I felt with the delays and stuff. The game seemed completely un-reachable and I thought I would never actually have the box in my hands. (Never did have the box anyway, bought off of Steam.) That sucks RJMC, I hope you have a way to legally get the game without spending too much cash. Hey, maybe you could check ebay.

I dont think that it matters that some things have been taken out of the game. Obviously the developers think that the things that they took out of the game were unsuitable for whatever reason. For example, the hydra. Sure it looked kick-ass in screenshots and whatnot, but according to Valve, it was fun to watch, but not fun to play against.

What country do you live in? How much does Half-Life 2 cost over there?

I know someone that has finnished HL2 and he did it on this:
PIII 733mhz
320MB ram
GF4 MX 440

It ran pretty well (think about how you expect the game to run on this kinda system) .. some really crappy fps when there was like lots of stuff goin on of course.
And it doesn't look THAT bad. really!

only the draw distance on some objects suck at dx7

Now hes playin with the jbmod and then he got good fps. (maybe coz of tha buildingblock map it's rather smal. and there's no ai stuff going on.)

32 mb videocard S3 progtaphics (something like that,come whit the PC)

directX 9

it reachs the minumun but some games looks very slow even if they requirements are like the half of my PC

and about the cuted content dont care too muc, is just that I saw cool things of the leaked beta and how they are not in the final game is a bit sad but not a real problem

I live in venezuela
the money of my country is the Bolivar (Bs)
and compared to the dollar is like : 1$= 2500 Bs (not sure is that correct maybe is 3500 Bs)
2500 Bs is not so much but if a original HL2 copy cost like 50$ (right) it will be a huge price,and many imported electronics stuff are more expensive here that in USA (for example the latest ATI card cost 1.500.000 Bs) so a original HL2 will cost like 125.000 Bs,thats a lot,and my parents will never give that money just for a PC game

and I can buy a pirated PC game by 2500 per CD,and if HL2 is 6 CDs that means that I can buy HL2 pirated by 15.000 Bs thats ia a more acceptable price to me,and if I buy it in DVD will be 10.000 Bs cuz that the price of the DVD's (HL2 is one DVD right?)
